A micro-dam with a capacity of holding 70,000 cubic meters is under construction in Hamedey, Elabered sub-zone. The task is being undertaken in collaboration with the Anseba regional administration and partners. Previously, the inhabitants of the area used to travel 3 to 6 hours to fetch water. Hamedey with a population of over 800 is located 20 km. north of Elabered.
