US Secretary of State is reportedly uneasy over the faltering peace efforts across Africa, an unravelling that will have direct strategic and security implications for the United States.

I agree with some descriptions of the general situation on the continent of Africa. However, I do not share Farah's biased views of the Democratic Republic of Congo when he writes, I quote,"the central government is not legitimate". This is a governement that has been elected freely by the Congolese people for the first time since 1960. All the institutions in DRC have been democratically elected, from the presidency to the national assembly. What makes a government legitimate? In 2011 there will be elections in DRCongo. Nobody knows when elections will take place in Rwanda, Uganda, Libya, etc. I would like to encourage the author of this article to be more objective and to inform the world rather than intoxicate the public with unfounded statements.
