On Jan. 7, military forces from the Sudanese government opened fire on a convoy of peacekeepers in Darfur. Although the government denies that the attack was intentional, it has thrown into question the capability of UNAMID, the joint U.N.-African Union (AU) peacekeeping mission in the region, to keep the peace.

I think the Darfur problem is getting people noughts.If gov`t forces attack the peacekeepers, then the Un should go a step ahead and realy do something about this.It therefore means that the Gov`t of Sudan does not even want a solution to the problem.Sanctions should be reinforced and the President and government called to order. The big five of the security council should keep back thier selfish aims of enriching themselves,stop vetos and take appropriate decisions.
