Eritrea is committing human rights violations. Whether they are following their own laws or not, it is a violation of basic human rights. I am referring to the torture, mistreatment and imprisonment of people who refuse to participate in the military, like Jehovah's Witnesses.

It appears that Eritrea is part of, or is trying to become a member of the UN. The UN stands for human rights. The treatment that I have read about at the hands of Eritrea government is archaic behavior and thinking. No government has the right to imprison or mistreat anyone who takes a stand in refusing to do something a government may want, when they refuse because their bible based conscience or their values and morals as a person do not allow them to do so. This is disgusting and primitive behavior.

I am someone who has been interested in visiting Africa including Eritrea as a tourist, however, until this mistreatment of these people stops, I will never support the economy of such a country that is so backwards and will do all I can to post these facts all over the internet where ever I am able to and especially on travel web sites letting people know of these atrocities that Eritrea is committing and that Eritrea should be boycotted.
