The moral toll in the US has been horrific, and the condemnation from society has been growing, to the point that abortion providers have been closing shop and abortions are difficult to procure. Please. That is an exaggeration. It is only the political and extreme religous right in the US that is against abortion and they always have been. The only reason why some are not performing them anymore is because they themselves are religious and are choosing not to. The majority of Americans are still in support of abortion and there has not been any moral or social upheaval due to abortion. Studies have shown that there would be more social problems without abortion because an unwanted pregnancy does not necessarily lead to the best parenting or raising of the child. Women should have the choice if they want to be a mother. Cultures around the world have been practicing abortion in one form or another for centuries.
