I want to welcome Julius Coles as a quest columnist. It is always nice to hear from African Americans or others interested in Africa. I'm aware that you are aware of the bad news from Africa. I wanted to point out a few things for you: 1) Most bad news from Africa is from the UK, particularly anglo-White Britons. It almost seems as if the UK is pursuing a self-forfilling prophesy - The prophesy that without British colonial masters Africa is doomed. In that light BBC and other British papers only report bad news from Africa.
2) Economic growth, as you pointed out, is now sustainable in Africa. You will never see anglo-Britons writing about economic growth in Africa.
3) Allafrica.com now has more latest information from African journalists than all British news media combined. Africans are talking about Africa. Please, read their articles. You will be surprised to note that African journalists are not getting credit from British Magazines...Good day
