AS for security aspect of AFRICOM, is the US trying to take responsibily for all black African countries for free and why? With respect to security, any nation can only boast of real nationhood if it provides security her citizens. A force like AFRICOM will never provide security for any African country but can be used very easily to provide INSECURITY. With respect to counter-terrorism in the continent, looking at the history of the continent in the last fifty years, most of the cases that could be termed roughly as terrorism those witnessed in the Congo, Angola, Mozambique, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Sudan, etc.. All these cases are and were created directly or indirectly by the US in which case the presence of AFRICOM in the continent would be far from being helpful to the continent. In conclusion, it is felt that AFRICOM will not help African countries in any way but it has that potency to destroy the continent.
