On the face of it, Deputy Minister of Communications Roy Padayachie's trip to London to address the two-day International Seminar on Ethnic Conflict in Sri Lanka is to be commended, however, he should be aware that all the directors of the 'Global PeaceSupport Group' are ethnic Tamils and at least one of the directors has connections with the banned LTTE organization. Only a naive individual will swallow the one-sided picture presented in their publication in connection with the so called seminar. No mention is made of ethnic cleansing of the Jaffna peninsula (part of the homeland they are claiming) from where they chased away or murdered minority Sinhalese and muslims, or, the murder of Rajiv Gandhi (Indian Prime Minister), R. Premadasa (Sri Lankan President) and many other leading politicians in Sri Lanka including Tamil politicians opposed to the LTTE. Nor do they mention the massive atrocities commited by the LTTE like the Central Bank bombing which killed 90 civilians and mass killings of hundreds of Sinhalese villagers, or the murder of 700 policemen who were ordered to surrender to the LTTE. Most Tamil civilians killed in the conflict were actually killed by the LTTE. Certainly, the Sri Lankan Government has made many mistakes in the past, but it is important to understand why LTTE is a banned organization in many countries, and why it is unwise to become associated with any organization even tainted by association with the LTTE, and in all probability is one of their many front organizations involved with fund-raising.

I think its time the world learns the truth about Sri Lanka! The Government of Sri Lanka cannot be trusted. For 60 years it has been killing tamils. If you like to see the Genocide of tamils in Sri Lanka, then you must support the government! The Tamil race in Sri Lanka will be wiped out if the government continues as it is. It is time the world realises the actions of the govt. Also, for your information, the Global Peace Support group is a UK registered Charity and has no conections what so ever with the LTTE! All they want to achieve is peace, by bringing the two parties involved back to negotiations. This can only be done with the support of the international community.
