Lets be realistic Fatim Badjie is an intelligent young girl. She will never get involve with Jammeh. I know that she doesnt have all the experience needed to hold a ministerial position particularly considering her age. However, Gambians should be please for her courage and desire to serve her beloved country, and leave the temptation of living in America like many Gambians do. We all need to be more supportive rather than associating her with Jammeh, with minimal evidence to the story.Acting like paparazzi, and tabloid news papers will not help The gambia to go forward. Our support to her inexperience could make the difference. So please, fellow Gambians let us supportive allow herself. Fatim has good intention for the Gambia and she will do her upmost best to proof herself as a competent minister.

My name is Yusupha dumbuya a Gambian based in United states. I am an independent, and my assessment of our country situation reflect my independent views. First I challenge my fellow Gambians to tailor their comments toward issues that affects our country and find solutions to those issues. Gambian politics should pass the stage of mere opposition but rather to address the real issues affecting Gambians. Democracy have spoken and we should allow it to run it course. If the Gambians decides they don't want president Jameh, they should communicate it only through election. Gambia is not a perfect country and we have lot of work to do but for the mean time we should stop winding and rally behind our president Jammeh to develop our belove country. Fellow Gambians don't quote me wrong. I am not saying you cannot criticize our president because it is part of democracy but lets talk about of issues of substances that will help in rebuilding of our country. The point that many of you are commenting about president Jammeh is irrelevant. The president have the power to appoint any Gambians. That his constitutional right. Appointing someone to a position requires certain steps and I am confidence the president follow that steps. Fellow Gambians if we are going to write something about our country or our president we better be able to back it up and point it to something that affect the lives of our counry men and women. Lets stop politics of hate and start showing some respect to our president Jammeh. The issue of Fatim Badjie is irrelevant as there is no evidence backing your claims that she is unfit to perform in the position she is appointed.

I am convince that the government have to do more to help it people and if they dont know I will be glad to contribute with other scholars to find remedies to our problems, but I am equally convince too our problems lies in our own hands (the gambians attitude towards Gambia). The president is responsible for only 10% and the Gambian are responsible for the 90%. Many in Gambia, private citizens and civilians are corrupt and when given opportunity seriously abuse it. These are the elements that go back and blame the president. Blaming the president is not working from Jawara's time to Yaya's time so we better start talking about issues that affect our fellow country men now: education, agriculture, electricity, communication, trade, ease travel restrictions etc. There are so many issues to talk about and I am sure if you are professionals that love to work with your country the president will not object to that. My parents are UDP supporters but I am an independent candidate willing to engage fellow Gambians. Some viewers may object my views but again that is democracy. Tonight I challenge all Gambians in Gambia and other part of the world to debate issues affecting our country. I am ready for life debate anywhere Gambia, U.k, U.S.A etc. This is the beginning of really addressing Gambian's issues and I am ready to debate you anywhere: U.D.P, elements of APRC, and all others.

It's sad to read your article on the web about President Yahya Jammeh and his appointment of Miss Badjie as minister of information. Because it's a one sided story with no justification at all, I'll only comment on your language instead of the contents. Your tone is harsh and obviously rude. AS an African, talking about a stateman, an elderly person, that is NOT the tone and language you should use. You might have been saying the truth but it's distorted by your tone and choice of language. Two wrongs can never make a right and anger will never produce justice.

I was really terrified when I read this article, which is just mean and totally subjective. But fortunately the comments moderated the journalist's view. As I know Fatim Badjie, I can tell it is totally false to think there could be a relationship between Fatim Badjie and the President. She is a very passionate, and intelligent woman. The African countries have always had old ministers with a long experience, national or international, why can't we give their chance to the younger generation, who is may be more passionate and loyal than the older. Before judging, may be we should let her make her proof. As I said, she is very intelligent and she can realize amazing things for her country. P.S: I apologize for my english. I am senegalese, my french is better than my english.

Wow! i have heard this story and its sad that anyone would make up a story just to hurt fatim. first of all i am not a jammeh fan at all. i never have and never will. but i know fatim and we spend her last couple of months together in maryland. first of all.. she has a degree.. so dont you dare question that. all those so call experience sos .. you know the ones who are 50years old but dont know how to spell thir name are better than fatim in youe view. age should not be a factor in hiring anybody and if you think experience come with age you are still living in the 10 century. I KNOW FATIM AND I CAN say for a fact that she will never date anyone to get a job. she got the job.. now get over it and do something with your life!!!! GO FATIM. MISS YOU. SHOW THEM WHAT YOU GOT AND LET THE HATERS KEEP HATING.
