I am a Liberian currently residing in the US. I just want to recognize that the police is actually taking some action against such officers. I also recognize that there is a lot of work the needs to be done. One thing that bothers me about the Police is that, they don't know what the job actually entails .
They are taking advantage of the power given to them. Some officer are abusing power. Children are being hanged. My question is where are the police. Journalist are being beating for reporting the News. In one case, a journalist was beaten and detained for reporting on child protection. what I could not understand was that it was ordered by a civilian.
These kinds of actions, by those who are to be protecting the Citizens of Liberia, discourages and hurts Liberia developmental process. The government needs to investigate these incidents and bring these criminals to Justice.
We all need to work together to develop our country. Our leaders should learn from history and from other African countries that, it is not the abuse of power that makes one a great leader or makes your subjects love you. Respect and Serve your people Liberians. Be the mother of AFRICA.
