Uganda: U.S. Army Set to Recruit Citizens - The Nation

Ugandans who want a career in the United States military, can sign up at the annual convention of the Uganda North American Association, organisers say.

Join the Army, Die for Israel!!!

Nothing wrong dying for Israel, with a pay...rather than dying for LRA for no pay!!!

You have to been a U. S permanant resident. He is lying.

Serving in the US army would be a good opportunity to many Ugandans and a number of other willing Africa nationals, however, the cost of the process to fly for a job interview in Florida with no guarantee makes it pricey and a dicey issue. The US Army should send recruiters to these African countries and show-case what they have to offer and pre-screen the recruits and pay for the process. It will cost a Ugandan a minimum of over $2300 to make it to this job interview.

Author: distraction

Guys this is a distraction from the problems the Ugandan Army has been revealed to have. You know the socalled insurgency in Northern Uganda that has lasted 22 years ? The Ugandan Army Commanders were actually selling weapons to the insurgents, and commiting other crimes like maintaining ghost soldiers in the pay rolls. Can us believe that ? Sort of like the USA Commanders selling weapons to Al Qaeda ? It is really a travesty of good governace for the ruling NRM/NRA to have lied to the country for 22 years that they were fighting LRA when they were aiding and abeting the insurgency. Doesn't anybody see how preposterous that is? Obviously both NRM/NRA and LRA have benefited from the dumb war the socalled insurgency. The issue here is not whether to join the USA army or not but rather to separate the dysfunctional Ugandan politics from the Ugandan Army. Uganda does not need Generals intimidating and threatening legislators and citizens in parlianment nor in the streets. Most importantly as it has been asserted by many Ugandan politicians over the decades: Uganda's problems are political not military. How in the world does Uganda get to celebrate the killing of its citizens during civil wars as heros' events ? Does the USA even have a holiday celebrating the end of the Civil War that Abraham Lincoln fought ? Ugandan politics is dysfunctional because it has failed to separate the military from politics just as church and state are rightly separate. Only in Uganda do you find citizens asking a presidential candidate whether he has support in the military! And instead of "demystifying the gun" the NRM/NRA cult still goes to the bushes of Kyankwanzi to adorn themselves in military regalia to revel in the cult like rituals on a regular basis. Military uniforms and other regalia have their place and meaning, and nobody, least of all the citizens of Uganda should be fooled about it.

This has always been about the citizens of Uganda not Ugandan immigrants in the USA or else where. But as usual whenever the criminal antidemocratic elements are exposed for who they are they try to distract or change the topic. Ugandans want their country back; come 2011. Mugabe is gone; you know who is next; it is time to prepare for 2011 elections; and to give Uganda back to the rightful patriotic Ugandans; to get rid of the liars once and for all.

If joining the USA solved things in Africa Somalia would be stable because General Aidid's son was in the US Marines but when he returned to Somalia nothing changed. And the notion that the USA is there only to fight for Israel is as simplistic as it is ignorant.

I suppose the Ugandans can be used to control a rebellious U.S. population once the Americans finally figure out with their criminal government has been up to.

They can lead us off to the Halliburton/KBR built detention centers and death camps. Any regular citizen would have a hard time with that. Foreigners wouldn't.

I would urge everyone who is considering this to be cautious. I am an American and it is my understanding that the US does NOT recruit nonresident foreigners into the military. While we do have many people who are not US citizens in the military, they all had legal US residency when they enlisted.

If you are interested in this please do your research into this before parting with your money. It would be a real shame to spend a large sum of money to fly halfway around the world only to learn that you are not eligible.

Ok, so it's confirmed that this "offer" by Ugandan organizers is some sort of scam, because the US military does not recruit nonresident foreigners. If you get scammed by this, don't blame America, it's your fellow countrymen doing this.

However, if you are interested in serving in a military force, the French Foreign Legion is a legitimate opportunity: http://www.legion-recrute.com/en/

To any non-US citizens thinking of joining the US Army -- please reconsider. I have no problem with immigration, so I am not trying to dissuade you on the basis of some racist ideology.

You will be sent to Afghanistan, Iraq or possibly Iran in the near future. You may not survive. If you are lucky enough to survive your 3 or 4 or 5 tours of duty, you may return home missing limbs or otherwise be unable to work. Even returnin soldiers who are naturalized US citizens are having difficulty obtaining medical care or mental health care. The government has instructed officials to stop helping them fill out paperwork to apply for disability payments. If they treat a citizen who was born in the US this way, how do you think they will treat a soldier from a foreign nation?

By relying on non US soldiers, they avoid having to institute a military draft in the US. If they were to start up the draft, they know that the US public would demand an end to our middle east wars and there would be mass protests and even rioting in the US. But taking advantage of those desperate for an opportunity to achieve the "American dream" (even while the dream is disappearing for many Americans due to the economic crisis over the housing market collapse) allows them to pretend that things are better than they seem in Iraq.

I sincerely hope any one considering this will take my words seriously. Do not apply unless you are willing to take the very real and large risk of dying in an unnecessary and immoral war.

May God bless you.

US is a democtratic country, he does not set the rules. So it is not true

Author: paul.pemberton

This article is misleading. In order to enlist in the United States armed forces an applicant must be legally resident in the US. That means being a US citizen or having a Green Card or some other form of legal residence.

All African nationals entering the US require a visa. The United States will not grant a visa to foriegn nationals whose intention is to enlist in the US armed forces.

Follow this link for more detail:

http://usmilitary.about.com/od/joiningthemilitary/a/enlstandards_2.htm

To quote

"In order to join any branch of the United States Military, one must either be a U.S. Citizen, or one must be a legal immigrant, currently living in the United States, with a "green card." The United States Military cannot and will not assist in the immigration process. In order to join the U.S. Military, one must legally immigrate first, and then apply to join the military, once they are living in the U.S."

As a Black American, I urge Ugandans not to join the US military under any circumstances. It should strike you as a very odd arrangement to begin with. Is it not? The US military is trying to establish AFRICOM for one thing-to militarily position Africa's rich natural resources for the West, regardless of what they say to the contrary. Massive oil reserves have been found in Uganda. Why do you think they are interested? In their think tanks including RAND and many others they have already said that they (the West) must have Africa's resources to survive in the coming decades and don't you think that they are preparing to take them by force if necessary? Africa must defend its own interests, not those of the West at Africa's expense. Enough is enough. Do not be a pawn in the game.

Dear All,

This man is a liar. You have to be at least a U. S. permanant residant to qualify for any position in the Army. Besides, United States is a Democtratic Country, so the lieutenant does not dictate what goes on. You will be paying your registration money for nothing.

Yes, they need a lot of black people because the US 1. Are completely exhausted of dimwits from the US who would enlist in its genocide forces; 2. US, Britain and Israel is actively in the process of recolonizing Africa by proxy and need as many black faces to justify it; 3. disposable black soldiers are put directly on the front line in Iraq and Afghanistan and, since they are foreigners, are never counted in the US soldier death toll. Thus, when you see articles saying that 45 people - including 2 US soldiers were killed, trust me, most - if not all of the other 43 are soldiers in the US military who are not citizens.
