The invasion of State land by private individuals is a rather common phenomenon in Cameroon nowadays. The most recent and maybe glaring case, is the one concerning land in the environs of the Presidency in Yaounde. Next week, the squatters will be sent parking and their homes demolished. But, should we really feel sorry for them? Well, yes and no.
