The Kanifing Magistrate Court trying Fatou Jaw Manneh, a US-based Gambian journalist, for alleged sedition on 21 April 2008 restricted the general public from the trial by ruling that only Manneh's family members and two journalists were to be admitted to the court.
Whenever i read depressing articles like this i tend to wonder whether we have a Democracy in The Gambia or "DIRIMOCRACY". How can anyone beleive that Rule of Law is still alive in the Gambia as Yaya Jammeh tend to make outsiders beleive.
I am kind of lost here, can someone actually convince me that what we have in the Gambia is not a Monarchy where anyone that stands for the truth stands alone and faces persecution.
This world have seen so many powerful and brutal dictatorships, in Europe, Africa, Asia and all over the world and how they ended up being defeated and wiped out.
My message to the Gambia government is: "We do not need a soceity of BEASTS or MONSTERS."
What purpose would the Law be serving if those administering the affiars of the state are not runing things as ststed in the Same law they try to TWIST & TURN to bring put forward bogus charges against people with defferent political views to theirs.
This whole thing is absolutely SICK. I'm sorry to say but we have a very Immature Government, very unprofessional in the way they deal with national issues of all natures. Regarding all opponents as enemies is just as childish and that is really unacceptable.
