THE Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), yesterday, in Abuja described Senator Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello as "an opportunist lawmaker" with no regard for the law of the land and the constitution.
Look we share the frustration of the EFCC but they are not doing enough to arrest Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello. The one million dollar question, If Iyabo had been Eze Njoku or Tonye Douglas do we think that the out come would been the same of course Hell No. I am not accusing EFCC of compromising their stand but showing a soft spot because this lawless international criminal junta is the daughter of the former Ex-President that he has nothing to write home about.
Iyabo's charges are multi-faceted; Accessed of Stolen Money to the tone of 10 million Naira (2) Evading Arrest, (3) Contempt of Court and finally Saber rattling with a constituted authority such as EFCC. The last time we checked we have One Nigeria and not according to Obasanjo-Bello but rooted on the Nigeria Constitution. The Committee from our revered House of Representative adhered to the instruction of the President through EFCC that all un-used fund form the previous budget allocations should be returned but Iyabo-s led committee disregarded that directives and went ahead on a spending spree in Ghana. This is while I felt that the David Mark led Senate is a national disgrace when they cleared Iyabo of any wrong doing. Shame on the Seante.
If the former President is an honorable he would be in the fore front advising her rogue daughter to surrender to the same Agency that he Obasanjo himself created to fight corruption. The world witness the former president appeared on the national TV to disgrace his former Minister of Education Prof. Fabian Osuji for raising money not for his own use but to influence the Senate to increase his budget. If it was wrong then what makes it right now since the offense Iyabo and the Ministers of Health are charged with are similar in nature? Please give me a break jari.
You are right my brother but remember that Baba Iyabo reluctantly put together EFCC not because he wanted to fight corruption in Nigeria but because he was forced to do so by the West in order for them to forgive our debt. But Mr. President used it against his political enemies. Iyabo knew exactly what she was doing before the said money was spent. She knew that if it is uncovered, that the case is not going anywhere afterall Nigeria's money is there for the taking. She was well aware of the law and knew that members of both chambers came to office by fowl means as she did and would not do anything. What about the $16B power contracts that Baba Iyabo and associates awarded to different companies since 2005 but nothing of substance has happened till today. Let's fold our hands and watch both House and Senate.
