Climate change has nothing to do with the food shortage. For years Nigerians have been able to feed themselves. Now that we know that global food crisis is coming, the govt.has to act quickly to help the rural farmers to step up planting of food crops. One way is to distribute fertilizers to the rural farmers, being very careful that the distribution does not fall into the hands of fraudsters who will extort money from even the homeless to enrich their pockets.I recall some years past when the then Dr Okpara govt of Eastern Nigeria distributed agric materials like palm seedlings, and agric fertilizers to rural farmers. That resulted to the palm oil boom in the present SE region. The evidence is there with the palm plantations in many parts of the region today.Awolowo did the same thing in the western region.Tod ay we don't need to import rice, yam, beans, and garri if the govt can just fund the rural farmers in the various localit ies. They can give them loans, after inspecting their farm lands. The poor farmers can be given free fertilizer and free interest loans of N100,000 or less acording to the capacity and expanse of land of the farmer. The result will be evident in less than two years.+
Hi! I think that a great deal of the problem lies in the climate change issue. Therefore I would like to recommend the website www.treehoo.com that plants trees for most of its profit. It's a great and easy way to fight the global warming for free by just using the website to search the internet and so on. No other webportal offers this, so why not try it?
