Oh dear oh dear....this will prove to be a difficult one for the usual suspects on here who are quick to label anyone who calls for the murderer mugabe to step down as racist ex rhodies or british/western agents, or whatever derogatory term they can come up with. Now in the case of Desmond Tutu....oooops...he campaigned against racism so the racist label wont stick....he is notoriously strong headed and has castigated the West over failings in Isreal and Iraq so he cant be labelled a Puppet of the West...Please put us out of our misery...please...have a go at Desmond Tutu and let us see your creative side and how your imagination runs away with you..please...the anticipation is killing me!!!

The only reason Tutu cant be labeled racist by these bigots is because he is black. I hope they see the irony of this.

Ok I'll have a crack at it just for the jollies: ummm ok......Tutu won the Nobel peace prize, Alfred Bernhard Nobel was a white man who invented the explosive called dynamite and owned the gun manufacturer Bofors, so Tutu is an evil white sponsored war-monger and the Nobel peace prize is an evil thing.......hmmmmm but then so is everyone who has ever won the Nobel prize.............and Nobel died in 1896 so..............sorry I got nothing.*LMAO*

Did I not say the usual suspects ready to throw labels at anyone who disagrees with mugabe would be conspicuous by their absence on this topic????

turnex, glpy, mindpower etc, white anglos congratulating themselves is not going to impress anybody in Africa. You already boast that you have contributed to African democracy, when all you do is defend old colonial and outdated policies and way of thinking. Ahaaaaa... now you can congratulating Tutu, remember the days that the anglican church and other white christians threatened to boycott Tutu for fighting white racism in South Africa! Ahaaaa now you are praising him! Is it not what pan-Africans say..."today the sing your praises, tomorrow they are throwing stones at you".

phiri, you may want to cut and paste this to your desktop for future reference for I did mention it once before but you probably missed it or chose to. I am NOT white, nor am I an ANGLO(whatever that is meant to be although I suspect it is derogatory seeing as you use the term to slander people that are anit-mugabe. The only racist on this board as far as I have determined so far is you man...for anybody that disagrees with you is automatically labelled a white this or white that or anglo this or anglo that. you dont see any of us calling mugabe supporters black this or black that do you?? Instead we prefer the more apt lacking in common sense as people of every colour lack in common sense and you fall into that category I am afraid. But the racist innuendo you ply on here is wearing thin to say the least so try to pick another avenue of attack if you please..one that is credible and backed with facts...not fiction!

Maybe if you write to Phiri in Shona again he might get it. And then you will get your "western puppet" badge from him.

As always Phiri I have to ask you to show me where I have "defended colonial or outdated policies". You keep putting words in people's mouths. Is that the "honest correctness" you said you embrace? Sounds like a special type of honest correctness to me, the kind you read in The Herald.

Phiri, I would never for one moment criticise Nobel Laureate Lord Tutu. I have met Lord Tutu when he was The Very Reverend Archbishop of Capetown in 1995, he's a very intelligent and indeed charismatic man of whom I have the utmost admiration.

“His joy in our diversity and his spirit of forgiveness are as much part of his immeasurable contribution to our nation as his passion for justice and his solidarity with the poor.~Nelson Mandela (http://www.racismnoway.com.au/classroom/factsheets/42.html)

I have never supported apartheid, nor would I ever support racism in any form. Latterly the Archbishop of York Lord Dr. John Sentamu is a man of conviction and principles, an example to all black African clerics and I find him one of the most interesting and entertaining members of our Parliaments upper house. I'm not a believer Phiri, the idea of a confirmed atheist boycotting a church is just silly but I give credit where credit is due both of these gentlemen are indeed iconic for all the right reasons.
