I hope Mr. Yar'Adua and his gang will deliver this time. Obj hoodwinked Nigeria for the same project at more than $16 billion with nothing to show for it. This is how the nation's resources go to waste each time a new administration comes into power. One project is done over and over and over again without being completed. Each administration awards the same contract and shares the money, another administration comes in and does the same thing and the project remains undone. In the 1970s the federal government was financing the science laboratories project in a secondary school where I was a teacher. One contract was awarded several times to supply chemistry, physics and biology laboratory furnitures and equipments. After the 1st contractor supplied his own materials, two other contractors brought in the same equipments with the result that there was no place to house them. These equipments were dumped outside. What a country? When I visited the school ten years latter, those equipments were still outside, in real bad shape while some individuals had helped themselves, the remaining ones under harsh condition housed some hens and their chicks. This time the contractors don't even have a site for the project let alone bringing in the materials, that is after 95% of the money had been paid out. As the saying goes many days are for the thief and one day is for the owner of the house.

Cosmetic enough for an outsider to see, but the implementation is yet to be seen. However,if the President backs up his rethorics with concrete actions, then he will gain people's confidence. Many Nigerians are interested to know the specifics of the project and corruption check measures the government is putting in place, and not necessarily all this photo-ops speehes.

Iam am glad that the president has decided to take the grand step . i pray that God will give him the wisdom to complete the task. The problem actually is during the implementation of the project a cople of novice due to selfish reasons wont want the progress of the project but as we know God knows the heart of man so i pray that God send people of like mind and interest of the country to support the president as we gradually move ahead. I personally believe in Nigeria no matter the situation now i hope to be among the changing force.mr president Umaru Musa Ya'Adua go on.
