ZIMBABWE'S police commissioner-general has issued a statement quashing claims by the Movement for Democratic Change leader that he was seeking refuge at the Dutch embassy because he feared arrest by police authorities.
Floyd should understand that his government stopped functioning in March, its now June. When the madness in Zimbabwe stops maybe then it will be safe, until Mugabe is put away and his generals too, then nothing is safe.

How can anyone take seriously any statement by Mugabe or his government, with the exception of those which concern his holding onto power? Zanu-PF, and Mugabe himself, have proved themselves entirely inept at ruling, not simply democratically, but in any fashion at all. It is abundantly clear that this dictator will stop short of nothing to retain his grasp of power, even to the extent of destroying his country's economy, terrorizing his people, and murdering opposition leaders.

Then why did the police feel it necessary to ban the opposition rallies on security grounds? The rally was allowed on Sunday, and everyone saw what happened.
