Fatima (not her real name) thought her son was dead until she saw his name in the newspaper. He was among about 90 children listed as participants in a rebel attack near the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, in May, which reportedly killed 200 people and injured hundreds of others.

I find it interesting that this young man, who is a goat herder from Darfur, had such a knowledge of the geography that he knew all the places that he was taken by the JEM soldiers that allegedly held him hostage in different parts of Chad and Sudan. His story sounds a little fishy, especially the part about the camp provided by the Sudanese government. That would be the first time I have ever read about the government providing aid for the victims of the crisis in Darfur.
