Zimbabwe: MDC Wins Major Talks Concession - Zimbabwe Standard

THE chairperson of the African Union Commission, Jean Ping, flew into Harare yesterday afternoon, providing impetus to the talks between the MDC and Zanu PF aimed at resolving the crisis in Zimbabwe amid speculation that substantive talks could start as early as tomorrow (Monday).

Plase, let's not be hoodwincked by the promise of talks for a unity government in Zimbabwe while the Commissioner of Police and the chiefs of the various Army units continue to remain in their posts despite all the killings, maiming and rape that they continue to carry out with the monstrous encoutragement of the bloodstained illegitimate President Mugabe!!

Without the presence of outstanding independant personalities such like Kofi Annan, the reference group to liaise with Mbeki, openly pro-Mugabe, can only act as a rubber stamp to Mbeki's undeclared hidden agenda to keep monster Mugabe at the helm of Zimbabwe.

Let it be known that the wheel of history will one day corner monstrous Mugabe, should God fail or forget to send him to hell, and will call him and his cronies to account before the International Criminal Court for genocide.

The MDCs are signing under duress the Memorandum of Understanding orchestrated by Mbeki. The world knows it.

The orphans (and sympathisers) of those killed in Matabeleland and the recent victims of atrocious political killings, maiming and rape across the country will soon rise up and call for justice. Remember Pinochet's fate although he secured immunity while renouncing power under pressure from the streets.

Monster Mugabe and cronies can not hide or shelve themselves from public accountability for eternity - though maverick Mugabe might have dreamt of eternal power God gave him!!

Africa does not need to shield or protect maverick monsters. Africa has to side with those who are persevering to end bloodthirsty dictators in favour of freedom, genuine democracy and socio-economic progress.

It may not be surprising that, as befits any mad dictator, President Mugabe is now the proud owner of a palatial £4.5 million mansion in Harare and a similarly lavish country hideaway, each fitted with the latest electronic security systems, including anti-aircraft missiles. But why should all this have been provided for him by the People's Republic of China? The explanation lies in a deal struck in 2005 whereby Mr Mugabe handed over to China his country's mineral rights, including the world's second largest reserves of platinum, worth £250 billion. In return for allowing the Chinese to cart away more than half a billion pounds' worth of minerals a year, Mr Mugabe not only makes a vast personal fortune for himself and his henchmen, but is given all the arms he needs to keep his criminal regime in power, including guns, jet fighters and military vehicles.

The sufferings of the people of the land between the two great rivers did not start with the mugabe regime !!! l am sure there is a lot of Ian Smith's colleagues still around. COME ON ... lets do it. Why start with RGM and and with RGM??? Surely the hague would like to hear about the part your daddy and uncles played in your so called 'rhodesian bush-war'. Survivers of Chimoyo, Nyadzonia and many other places in Angola and Zambia are still alive .... come on. Your divide and rule tactic wont do, you dinosaur.

Akafunboy.

I'm still waitiing for you to answer my question. How do you condone and support someone who has blatantly murdered, beaten and tortured his own people to stay in power?

And stop making up stories about Australians and murders in Perth. Complete lies.

Also have you figured out who else apart from England and Germany were in the first and second world wars yet? Basics Aka, Basics.

Mugabe deserves all he gets for the murders of thousands of innocent Zimbabweans.

I love that phrase by MDC spokes man "and president Tsvangirai." Let it be known that the people of Zimbabwe had an election that was not respected by the ruling party. If People like President Mugabe can sit down, and let such a beutiful, and once prosperous nation go down the drain; all for the sick of power it is so sad.

To be president, Tsvangirai should not accept anything less then a re- election that must be monitor by SADC, AU or the U.N. The local security forces, are just too bias for anything free and fair including, a power sharing government. My country Liberia,is an example of sharing power with a dictator, when he knows you are a potential sucessor.

i wonder what major score the MDC has made that people are raunting about. They wanted Mbeki to be sidelined and to get another mediator but this did not happen. All that has changed is the fact that Thabo Mbeki has cherry picked his reference group and will be liasing with them from time to time and certainly that is a win for MDC.ZANU has not objected to all this. For those who think Bob is going anywhere should forget and relax. It should start dawning in your minds that the way forward is a way with Bob in the picture.I am not even fazed by all this talk that the media goes about. In actual fact, it is MDC that is cornered because they have to enter into those negotiations. When the settlement finally comes through if ever it does, i will be sure to remind those who are daydreaming thinking that Bob is going, that Bob will still be holding the executive powers. Good luck for those kings and queens of wishful thinking

I agree that Bob will probably end up still in power. Not because he should be there, but because he has murdered and beaten his own people into submission. Its a disgrace for Africa that they can allow someone to do this to his own poeple and remain in power. But I still think that by negotiating with the MDC, Mugabe has admitted that his election win is illegitimate and not reflective of the will of the people. If it was free and fair, there would be no need to negotiate with the opposition. This is quite clear.

How in hell could it have been free and fair with one of the candidates being openly sponsored by foreign powers, DA? Why don't you try coming up with something new in your inane posts, besides the lie, "he murdered his own people", when in fact Mr. Mugabe did what any leader in power would do, put down an insurrection and prevented a foreign controlled front man from giving back the land that he spent so many years fighting for and for which so many brave Africans fought and died for. And all your whining will not wash out a word of these truths.

Author: the west

djoser35 you would have to be kidding, what about the starving of his people by stopping aid agencies that are still stopped and the mugabe's election farce is over! I am counting the days to the end of mugabe and regime as it will not be much longer. The house of cards is tumbling down around him.

Exiles unite to fight mugabe and regime, will be the next step the good people of Zimbabwe will take if mugabe does not hand over power!

If mugabe and regime one why are they even bothering to lose face and talk to Morgen? Its because he knows the world knows he did not win and is bowing to the worlds pressure.

Author: awt_independent

dLoser, once again you have been brainwashed by Mugabe. Not suprised though, its easy to brainwash the stupid. How can you call murdering MDC supporters because the want to vote for the oppositon putting down an insurrection? And when has Tsvangarai ever said that we would give the land back to the english? thats simply lies again. You really need to get your head out of your @rse and take a good hard look at yourself.

Oh.. and you want Zimbabwean land in Zimbabwean hands? I see that Mugabe has been given a £4.5 million mansion by the chinese, in return for allowing the Chinese to cart away more than half a billion pounds' worth of Zimbabwean minerals a year. Talk about a sell out. Mugabe has just sold Zimbabwe to the Chinese. I hope are happy with your dear leader...

damn right there dloser...mugabe had his foreign agent mbeki sponsoring him and that certainly did not make for a fair election. It was only fair that the clever morgan enlisted the help of the wealthy west to oust that excrement from office and morgan has got him where he wants him..at the table pleading for mercy. who would have thought mugrabby would one day be shaking hands with the very man he said was a puppet of the west??? not even you a-kakaboy!
