The Ministry of Education is not thinking straight and is reacting to students riots in myopic anger. Guys, sober up and strategize. Some of the students are reported to have demanded the following: 1.Unconditional re-admission to their formal schools-those still running; 2.Amnesty be extended to them for advancing their just cause (human rights-haki yao- their democratic rights -Sounds familiar?(i)not to sit for Mock Exams which stresses them unnecessarily.(ii)Carry electronic gadgets to school and use them unhindered.(iii) Decide their menus(iv)No punishment of any kind/type from teachers because teachers are high handed. Please, ladies and gentlemen- these are our kids, our sons and daughters, lost Kenyan youth who need guidance- not condemnation!Nor do they need to be sent to juvenile jails where they will waste away. Some of these students were hired by politicians to maim, kill opponents and burn their property. These are no longer unblemished, innocent youths! My suggestion is: Revive Reformed Schools(Wamumus)Let their be one in every Constituency -as a matter of urgency- funded by the CDF. Some of the burned schools could be rehibilatated and converted to Wamumus.Send these arsonists there immediately for rehabilitation and if their parents object-send them their too because they would prove to still be juveniles. My good friends PS Karega,Minister Prof Ongeri, what are you going to do with over 300,000 juveniles since you said they wont be readmitted? And Prime Minister Raila, why did you have to threaten teachers with contract signing at this very sensitive moment thereby killing their morale?
