The government is reported to have run out of paper to print money and is believed to be panicking over how to pay salaries for civil servants, especially soldiers and police who are the backbone of the Mugabe dictatorship.

let me guess he will offer them a car or land! haha the slush fund has run out of paper to print worthless money.
and once you cant pay the police or the military... who does he have to defend him from the will of the people that wants him removed from power and want him taken to the hague?
About time. But I'm sure Mugabe will blame it on racist colonialists and American imperialists. And people will fall for this tiresome, worn-out cliché.
he has his regular band of little helpers on here to propagate the myth that the brits and yanks are wating in ships just off cape town ready to invade..quite why they are waiting this long and for what only he and his little chums on here know...I think it has someting to do with the brits and yanks being scared to death of the zimbabwe national army or something like that...LOL
Mugabe, the God-send saviour!!
Congratulations to Maverick Mugabe. You have turned Zimbabwe into a 2,200 per cent socialist state where no money notes are needed anymore. What a hero! Should you not ask for your statute to be erected in front of the Parliament?
this is intersting, what a country boss mugabe is rulling without money to pay his brutal puppets. how are they gona bit and kill people without being paid. YYYYYYYYYyaaaa upsidedown. THATS THE END. KEEP PRAYING CHILDREN OF ZIMBABWE.THINGS ARE ALREADY TOUGH FOR MUGABE, BUT SOONER WILL BE A TESTIMONY FOR YOU.
Whilst funneling those stashes out of the country, Mugabe forgot to leave some at home to pay the bloody hands that feed him. Under this man, Zimbabwe is so broke that it can't even pay for its grave. I am tempted to say "the fool and his money are soon parted," but that would be incorrect because the fool and his money are certainly not parted as the fool has it stashed away. Why 'the fool'? Because one day, like Chiluba of Zambia, he will have to answer for that money and other frozen assets in the courts of law, including his wife disGrace.
You all wish. keep wishing but one thing for sure Zimbabwe will never be a colony again.
Chiki, you are right. Zimbabwe will never be a colony again. Days of super powers colonizing countries are over. There is a lot of work ahead for you to raise your country from its knees but the way those of us outside your country see it, it will take a miracle or never happen as long as you have a leader who is fiscally irresponsible.
when you find the time chiki, please tell us of a wealthy western country that is desperate to colonise a public toilet run by a bunch of no hopers stealing the toilet paper supplies????
Tell me one thing all this noise about human rights and democracy in Zimbabwe being made by Bush and Brown, is it love for Zimbabwean people. Comeon wake up people. l have said it before and l will say it again Zimbabwe is rich in minerals as well as human resources. You are right this day and age there is no Western country that would want to colonise any county is Africa. Slavery is long gone but still is happening. The so called powerfull countries create anachy, civil wars, economic hardships and sanctions. Good people like most of my friends out there will enslave themselves running to them giving them cheap labour in the name of political asylum. Do l need to even spell it out.No offense to my Ethiopean friends out there , but l believe their country needs more attention than any other African county.
its about the minerals? Then why do you have no problem with Mugabe selling out control of the minerals to China in exchange for some cash and a £4.5 million mansion for himself? Answer this question....
Its sad what you think about the Chinese and the mansion. What President Mugabe has said over and over again is we want partneship in all foreign investments. As a mater of fact the Chinese do not have total control of the mines in Zim, but are in Partneship with the locals who own a major chunk of the shares. As a point of correction the Chinese only helped in the construction of the "masion" as you wish to put it. The building materials were coming from allover the world, South Africa, Malasia just but a few. For all you know when our President was once a darling of the west noble prices were coming from all centers of the earth. Would you then blame a man building himself a retirement home? So many African leaders have recieved the prices, how they spend their money is up to them. Anyway if you are not Zimbabwean take time to come to our country and see for yourself how many mansions are in Zim.
I've been to Zimbabwe, absolutely loved it. The people are great.
Now tell me why Mugabe was lambasting Tsvangarai for wanting to sell minierals to foreigners when he's done exactly the same thing.
Hypocracy dont you think?
Turnex, you're a coward. And you know damn well one of your kind would find much to exploit in Zimbabwe.
I think you'll find, chiki, that most people on this board, me included, would be just as vociferous about any attempt at neo colonialism on Zimbabwe. The problem is that while the people would be trying to talk sense into the countries involved what do you think good old uncle Bob and his merry men would be doing?
Odds on that they would be running east and following their ill gotten gains, leaving the people of Zimbabwe to live in the garbage dump that they would leave behind them.
Chiki, the west doesnt want to recolonise Zimbabwe. Thats just a lie made up by Mugabe that you have fallen for to give his government a reason to be there. The classic reds under the bed scenario. Create an enemy that the people need you to defend them against and they will keep you in power. The west doesnt want to recolonise Zim, the west isnt going to invade Zim, get it through your think skull. Have you no noticed that the only people that talk about the west invading and recolonising Zim is Mugabe and the Herald? Wake up buddy and question things you hear before taking them as fact. Will get you a long way in life!
Chiki...Be serious. Why would any country want to rule Zim? Life expectancy of 37 ! Everone starving except the military junta that rules the country. Total inability to govern fairly. AIDS rampant and no real medical services. Between AIDS ,& ZANU(pf) most civil folks will be dead in 10 years. I spent a bit of time in Rhodesia when it was under colonial rule. The entire population was a hellava lot better off back then. Your folks couldn't handle the responsibilities of liberation...The mess in Zim is the making of the folks in Zim. Don't blame anyone else
You know what? I am sure that Mugabe will be rescued yet again! History of his rule in Zimbabwe has shown over and over that somehow or other this maniac gets bailed out of all sorts of tight spots. Such a pity that whenever something like this happens it's always the innocent Zimbabweans who suffer like the food and petrol shortages etc.
Well, no paper for new money will make things hard. Even the new $100 billion note is already worthless.
Woo Hoo...good things come to those that wait....no money no funny!!!!
