Two statements made by the jibiti George amused me. These I can easily interpret as follows. First, Bode George, not satisfied with the loots during his military career, had been working hard to steal as much money possible to reach his goal of acquiring a lot. Secondly, a daft like him is not ashamed to tell the press that he went abroad for medical tests, all of which could be done in Nigeria, if people like him and his co-looters, Obasanjo and his family members had not delibrately staffed our health ministry of necessary funds. I wonder if all these buffoons, who just use the opportunity of thuggery and violence to gain power do think at all, or not feeling ashamed of publicly announcing their going for medical check up abroad. Our own Doctors and Nurses are being lured daily to work abroad. We have the personell, we have the money, but instead of funding our health sector, the people at the helm of affairs were busy starving the sector, only to declare surplus for themselves to share, into private pockets as championed by obasanjo's daughter. Shame to all of you. Unfortunately, there is cause to lose hope of correctiveness, or seriousness in stopping corruption. We only hear of arrests, no one has gone to jail. Obasanjo's hair-dresser girl friend, former speaker is still in the house, rather than in jail. Obasanjo's daughter, still in the senate, rather the jail. Recent waiver of power to arrest a governor who stole, is an evidence that Yardua is weak and Obasanjo still wields strong influence on him. It will take a drastic approach to stamp out corruption in Nigeria. As long as none of the looters in the past is punished severely, EFCC approach is to pull wool on public face. That is why, some bands of looters had the effontry to exonorate Abacha. That is big insult on Nigerians. I feel ashamed to be one.
