A violent showdown on August 13 in the heart of Freetown, Sierra Leone's capital, demonstrated the political tension that has been brewing between the country's two main political parties, the ruling All People's Congress (APC) and the main opposition Sierra Leone's People's Party (SLPP).

Soupist parties, both: APC = SLPP. Hence, same "bita soup."
On a more serious note---for, I don't take soupist politics and rhetoric seriously, I agree with Hobbes: there is no "international community." It is a jungle "out there," if there be a there there.
Here is a fair, but imperfect representation of the truth: whatever accusation is thrown at the APC soupist occupier structure can, with equal credibility and vigor, be thrown at the SLPP soupist occupier structure.
This cirling of the circle, if you wish, reflexive "finger pointing" exposes, to a degree substantially determined, the soupist basis of Sierra Leone 'politics.'
In my view, soupist practices were initiated by the so-called founder of a non-existent 'nation': Milton Margai. The old fox was just as ruthless as his brother, Stevens, Momoh, Kabba, Berewa, and now, EBK, and any other soupist you wish to name: they are all the same.
Same "bita soup" everytime: APC "den tem" en SLPP dem tem" equates to "everytime: the same "bita soup."
But who is gulping the soup? Certainly, not the denizens of mundo intellectualism, maroons, as I call them, but the denizens of Kroobay, Magazine Cut, and many, many, many other sites of dehumanization in the soupist occupied TERRITORY of Sierra Leone.
Soupism is political barbarism. Got it?
Thuggery and political intimadation by the APC is back and the APC government seems reluctant and possibly impotent to tackle it. It seems that history is repeating itself all over again. Are we doomed to end up in another fatricidal war. The so call new look APC has been in control for just under a year and the country is disintegrating into another barbaric era. The international community should intervene This might be an opportuned time for Ecowas to get involved to avoid chaos in the country . It appears that the current government which I supported during the last election is determined to consolidate its grip on power by violence rather than make an effort to create a thug free environment conducive to good governance and capable of attracting foreign investors. Its no surprise that very few such foreign visitor have invested in Sierra Leone in the past year. Ernest Koroma who claims his role models are Siaka Steven and J.S Momoh needs to retract that idea as these were both dictators who destroyed the economy of Sierra Leone by their draconian and ruthless policies. Mr. Koroma needs to listen to his advisers like Samura Kamara Edward Turay etc whom I trust are their to remind him that the rest of world is watching us to see if we are going to allow party violence to reign again. The APC should cut out the violence and apply a more democratic method of convincing the populace to support their economic and other policies.
