Business Day (Johannesburg)

ZIMBABWE's power-sharing talks are hanging in the balance, with the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) saying Zanu (PF)'s intention to convene parliament on Tuesday would be a "clear repudiation" of the framework for dialogue.

Can my good man Tsvani afford to procrastinate??? The nature of poliyics do not allow that sort of lackadaissical approach. In the meantime his voters are going hungry and starving. Why cant the MDC see the bigger picture and sign on for the new administration whilst he has the opportunity. The restless young men around RMG are his main problem, not sekuru. RMG knows his days are numbered and few. But those guys of Tsvangi and Biti's age are not going to let go quietly unless Tsvangi is inclusive and show respect.

Ethnicity-minded Aka.. is now turning coat! Yesterday he was praising Bob the murderer. Today he is describing Tsvangirai as his good man! What a circus?
Bleeding Zimbabweans don't mind if he changes his mind with deep sincerity. Beware hyphocrisy is the devil behind Zimbabwe's rotten situation.
Why was Aka. applauding murderer Mugabe when his thugs physically assaulted Tsvangirai on the eve of the elections? He was still singing the praise of the hero turned lunatic!
Aka.. knows very well if he does not change side, he will be swept off his feet by the almighty waves of changes emerging at the horizon. Changing for the sake of saving one's skin? What a coward? Tsvangirai does not need these 11th hour dubious converts.
Thats not the spirit my dear prem, we should accommodate diffirent opinions as they catalyse our mental growth. It is good to debate as an opposer to enable the defender to give more reasonig. Whenever one gets back to his senses, reconciliation is essential.
Dear Negotiator, I note you assume Aka.. is getting back to his senses. Waouw! I have no problem with that; on the contrary we are canvassing for our crowd to get bigger and bigger. The problem lies with whether his sincerity with what MDC stands for is only skin-deep! He will have to clearly state he has dumped the lunatic and show remorse for having indirectly contributed towards maintaining an illegitimate President. The forum can also become a Truth & Reconciliation dialogue! The ball is in his courtroom.
My baasi, I am not a turncoat nor am l a coward. on the contrary l am still resolute for most of what president has carried out for Zimbabwe. Unfortunately, a lot of serious errors and mistakes have been done along the way. And it is not for a white person to correct me just as the Jews would not accept criticism from a German ... no matter how sensible his point maybe. Recent history cannot just be swept under the carpet..l mean our colonial slavery of the argument. Remeber most of us only voted for the first time in our fifties.Show respect.
It is hard to show respect for IGNORANCE ! Akupofrubbish, I am true African so don't start your hogwash about white Rhodesians, you are so riddled with hatred you just jabber on with your rubbish !
What a terrible shame showing on your face! You will go down in history as the lunatic who continued playing Mugabe's tune despite his "lot of serious errors and mistakes" as you put it!
Yesterday only you were mounting Zimbabwe/Malawi/Zambia against Botswana on ethnic ground. Today you say it is not for a white man to correct you?? It's even worse than the position adopted by lunatic Mugabe. He is fast catching up with senelity. But it is dead sure that you are already struck by a very serious state of senelity!!
Today you are against whites; you are already against folks of mixed blood; tomorrow you will be against North Africans (Arabs in majority); another day you will be against Ndbeles; What next?
Aka.., you have to stop your dangerous silly game. It is an order from a responsible citizen, much more African than you rotting inside yourself with hate.
In my actions for about half a century, I have always found myself with the suffering majority calling for freedom, justice and an equitable development to ensure social cohesion.
Africa is a composition of rainbow folks. Arguing you are African does not mean anything. Arguing you are African and hence you support murderer Mugabe is utter nonsense. You contradict yourself describing Tsvangirai your "good man". By your lunatic definition, he could not be African.
Should you need psychiatric treatment, we may ask a branch of Zimbabwe Exile Forum to find you an appropriate treatment.
White or no white, knowledge knows no colour. Witness Mutambara graduating from prestigious Oxford, yet exposing his stupidity at Mugabe's instigation. Compare that with a non-Oxford gradaute, world renown and genuine stateman, Mandela who denounced Mugabe as "the shame" of Africa!
Dear Aka.., please give up. Though you are not 84 yrs old yet, your frailty of mind is not only deceiving you; it is leading you blindly to offend the majority of Africans who are still pursuing the dream of turning Africa into an oasis of peace and prosperity.
we are now tired of staying in the diaspora the old man must just give power to the younger generation. cant he see he has ruined enough
Will that beautiful little country ever see peace ? My heart goes out to decent Zimbabweans , it seems the Devil has set his mind on destroying something beautiful by the hand of his servant Bob o Mugabe ! So sad that people can be so selfish as to hurt their own people ! They are so blinded with hate , they can't even see that there are also white Africans who would help try and restore Zimbabwe. Such stupid hatred. Black and White brothers working side by side , instead they spread their hate to stay in office after their huge failiures ! Ishe will not forget the devil mugabe and all that hate riddled scum he rules with !
Zanu will never go without war Tsvangirai should realise that. How many times have he won the elections and got cheated.Mugabe is not the enemy here but the vultures around him who only think about themselves.I am sure the US has realised this thats why they are setting base in Botswana. Its high time these guys tested their own medicine right now pple are starving to death yet these guys are opposed to talks.Mugabe hasnt outflanked his opponents he will pay watch this space keep tuned nothing lasts forever
I give a great support to Robert Mugabe to immediately go foreward in convening parliament as quickly as possible. morgan tsvangirai is too greedy of power in his attempt to reduce Mugabe to a garden boy after more than forty five years of serving the people of zimbabwe. the zimbabwean people must never allow tsvangirai to set a bad example in the politics of this continent. his steps shows that one just need to get the approval of america or britain and guarantee their exploitative interest in any part of africa, then they support you to become a president meaning that we are not a people of our own. Mugabe has even made a mistake for allowing him to reach this stage without quickly eliminating him.
So you think that Morgan is, "too greedy of power?" If so, then what does that make of old Bob; too, too, too, too greedy of power?
No one has yet seen how Tvangiri will govern, since he has never held national office. How can you call him greedy if he has taken no actions while in power? Do you imply that because he wants to change things, he's greedy?
Meanwhile, Mugabe has has 28 years to show his ample greed to the world. He likes the trappings of power too much to give them up gracefully. He's proven that over and over again. In fact, I'm sure the world has never seen an ounce of humility from Robert Mugabe. Has Robert Mugabe ever shared real power with anyone in Zimbabwe?
You go on to imply that it's a weakness for Tvangiri to accept advice from the Americans or the British, but you do not acknowledge that Mugabe himself gets plenty of biased advice. How else would you describe the advice of his wife and the generals running JOC? They don't care at all about the people of Zimbabwe, only their own selfish interests.
All politicians solicit advice. If you think it's wrong for Tvangiri, then why not Mugabe. Depending on your point of view, one is right and the other is the devil.
Try a little experiment. Here's a true statement, does it sound familiar?
"the zimbabwean people must never allow mugabe to set a bad example in the politics of this continent. his steps shows that one just need to get the approval of the JOC and guarantee their exploitative interest in any part of africa, then they support you to become a president meaning that we are not a people of our own."
Sorry brother , but the only way Mugabe served the people of Zimbabwe was up to the wolves and lions ! If you are too stupid to see that , don't get involved in Zimbabwean politics !
And of course in your sabre rattling over the west you seem to have forgotten (or ignored) the fact that Mugabe has practically given a lot of Zimbabwes resource rights to another exploitative power. The Chinese, but of course as they are not a Western power that is quite alright.
Your post was hypocritical in the extreme, and the final line was one for the 'moronic comment of the year' award. By simply saying what you did you are giving support to Mugabes reign of terror over any opposition that will spring up over the years.
Maybe you should re-read what you posted and think about it. You might then see how moronic you actually look in print.
From reading the article, I am not able to see how Mugabe is said to have outflanked his opponents. In fact if you go to the original MDC conditions for talks, you will realise that the convening of Parliament was one of the key demands of the MDC. I tell you guys, Mugabe is in trouble this time around. I do not understand why your reports try to give the impression that he is doing well. His problem is the economy, which is refusing to be rigged. The Zimbabwean economy has collapsed. Tsvangirai can afford to procrastinate and that sends shivers down Mugabe's spine. Tsvangirai should sign no deal with Mugabe unless he gets all the executive powers and authority. After all isn't it Mugabe who warned Tsvangirai that the gun is mighter than the pen. Why does he now want Tsvangirai to use his pen to sign the deal? Let the gun rule; the pen will takeover from the gun when the gun can no longer hold the power for Mugabe.
