Let the U.N Human Rights Committee understand, that Liberia's need for social justice is very important to its people. Liberians are very tire of the increasing crime level in our communities. Not every Arm Rubber is going to be kill. It is those who think they are entitle to killing people for their personal belongings. Why should someone deny peaceful citizens and immigrants their rights to live, be granted life as if, they deserve the rights to kill, rape, and inflect some kind of torture on their victims?

I live in the United States, and People like that(who kill people) are place in prison for up to 10 years or more, and then kill by injection or electricuted. It is right and God, the maker of Heaven and Earth wants justice be serve for their victims also(Read the Holy Bible, the books of Deut. and Lev.)murders are kill for the sin of Murder. This is called moral justice. We do not care what is done in Europe or South Africa, that is why they( South Africa) have higher crime rates in their cities then anywhere else. For us Liberians, we were never used to this kind of crime rate before the civil war, due to the dealth penalty.

Liberian should not give into any group or groups that thinks, they have the power or means to change our views of life as pertening to our faith and justice system. I am afraid this same U.N, with all the great work they are doing including peace keeping may usher in the Anti Christ.

I think Liberian citizens need to live in peace in their own homes. People being terrorized are to be punish for the crime commited. UN Human Rights can say all they have to say but we Liberians will stand with the decision from our President. It been too long of a years of turture and killing but now we need peace for all. I support President Johnson's government decision.

Amen, my brother.

Is this the same UN, that body of paper pushers in New York City, that the Sudanese head of State has told, to quote Mugabe, "to go hang," in the face of documented and provable genocide by the Sudanese Government?

Why, when it comes to Africans, it issues ungrounded commands ad libitum. Of course, the Madam knows what to do: ignore their lie,lie humanism, just as the Yanks have: kill, and if convicted, and the circumstances announce that "YOU SHALL DIE, THEN DIE YOU MUST."

I agree with the Yankees.

Would that the Madam tell them "to go hang," "to mind their businesss," and not meddle in the jurispurdence of Liberia's people, a people traumatized physically, psychologically, and now, from New York City: an essayed jurisprudential "let the criminals loose" doctrine. Rather, I say give'em the NOOSE or the bullet, whichever hurts the most.

The UN Human Rights Commission is a tiger with no teeth. As it can do nothing to help anyone, it needs to stay out of the business of Liberia. After almost 14 years in a refugee camp in Ghana, a young friend of mine has at last been able to return to Liberia. Sadly he informs me there is no work and there are many bandits and criminals, so it is not safe at this time. President Sirleaf has done what must be done to let murderers and terrorist know that they will be subject to death by hanging. This is the only way to deal with these types, you cannot have peace if you are not willing to fight for it and when you fight, someone may die.

I think the United Nations Human Rights Committee should leave Liberia alone. We are just coming from war and there is an urgent need to restore order and the rule of law in our society. The death penalty is the only language that these hardened criminals understand. Historically, the death penalty debate has focused on the noisy, often emotional issues of its morality. Some Christians employ the Holy Bible in opposition, while others quote the scriptures in zealous support. The fact is, from man's earliest days, capital punishment has received strong and continuing public support and has survived repeated legislative and / or judicial scrutiny. Look at the term itself-capital punishment. It is a legal and effective form of punishment. And if only one potential murderer, assassin or terrorist is deterred from committing a capital crime because he or she fears the death penalty, then that deterrence has effectively reduced the loss of lives. But in the final analysis, the deterrence or lack of deterrence is a moot point. Criminal law does not exist, and has never existed, for the purpose of deterring crimes. To the contrary, criminal statutes exist to define and guide the judicial system in executing punishment on criminals. An old adage says, "Let the punishment fit the crime." The simplicity of this statement is undeniable. Crimes don't demand discussion; crimes demand punishment. It is society's role to fit the appropriate punishment to the appropriate crime. This is what the President and her government have done. I therefore ask the United Nations Human Rights Committee to leave our dear President alone. As Commander in Chief, she has sworn before God and man " to enforce the laws of the Republic of Liberia." And this, she is obligated do without fear or favor. So help her God.

Arm robberers are not the most threat to the Liberian people. The most threat are the very same government officials in power. So,please stop the Liberian syndrome. If it was not for the UN, then Liberia would be in a mess. It is the same UN that President Sirleaf has requested their delay in Liberia because her government has proven beyound all doubts that it is just a failure. Stop killing innocent people because of the dime they are stealing, kill government officials because of the thousands and millions that they are stiealing. Liberians need to think ahead and think as a whole. We have no time to point fingers, our leaders must take control and set the example.

I believe that President Sirleaf did the right thing; and she has absolutely done many good things for Liberia. She took an oath to protect her citizens and stood by her word. She has the right to authorize the hanging of criminals (terriorists) who prey on hard working citizens, depriving them of their restful nights and the right to enjoy their hard-earned properties. However, the Human Right Watch groups could choose to protect all Liberians, be held fully responsible for ANY armed robbery, fully compensate the victims for their losses, award USD$500,000 to each rape victim and resurrect the dead victims. The president will then withdraw the capital punishment.

I will like to say to the United Nation Human right commision that President Sirleaf took the right decision by signing into law the execution of armed robbers and other criminals who go about terrorizing peaceful citizen that worked hard for their hard earned money and properties. Therefore, president Sirleaf took the right decision because, she took an oath to served and protect the Liberian people. The signing of this new armed robbery bail by the president will also served as an deterrant for those criminals who are bent over depriving peaceful Liberian the right to live quitely. The crime wave across the country is sending negative impact for the country as well as the Liberian economy. Investors and other potential citizen who are willing to invest in Liberia could also be afraid to invest or visit Liberia due to the fact that this kind of terroristic act by armed robbers accross the country show that the Liberian government is incapable of protecting her citizen within it environs. As a Liberian living in the diaspora, I will like to congratulate President Sirleaf for her job well done in bringing the hope of peace to the people of Liberia by signing into law the execution of those criminals who are in constant habit of depriving the people of Liberia the peace of mind they deserved both at night and during the day time as well.

I would agree if Liberia just reinstated the death penalty law accross the board, but to say that it is just to kill arm robberers even though they are not committing murder is unjust. So, if the President wants to be a just President, let her bring back the death penalty for those who committed murders or felonies resulting to murder. Former President Doe took the oath and he failed the Liberian people, Former President Taylor took the oath and did the same, so taking the oath does not mean a thing.

Look 'Bigger Boy', no one will be killed in Liberia for the crime of stealing. We have lived with stealing but in your process of stealing, you better make sure you dont take anyone's life because if you do, you commit MURDER. The wages of sin(MURDER) is physical and spiritual death. You will be executed by hanging. Know that this is the law and tell your colleagues. Those who want to take the 'Short Course' to easy living should know 'Short Course' usually kills the deer. Another thing I want you to know is that UN came to Liberia when the Liberian war ended. Charles Taylor was virtually defeated by other rebel groups and his safe passage to Nigeria was mostly negotiated by Nigeria, Ghana, West African States and some interested parties. Fighting stopped and Taylor left Liberia before UN deployed her men in the country. The U.S. sent some marines on sight seeing for some days and they left us with our trouble. ECOWAS should be given a big praise for their efforts in resolving the Liberian crisis. Now it is our turn to formulate laws to deal with all these by-products of war. One of the law is 'IF YOU KILL THE LAW WILL KILL YOU'. Have a good day and tell your friends of the dark. Thanks.

I tought twice before I posted my comments. If your Liberians believe that the UN is not worthy of being in Liberia, why ask them to delay their exit? Liberians are just full of big mouth like yours. My point is clear if you are not intelligent to understand what I wrote. My friends are not arm robberers, and in fact, they are people just like you and me. They are educated, smart, and carry the values of good men and women. They don't intend to kill arm robberers who don't kill, they intend to punish arm robberers in proportion to their crimes. Death should be imposed on those who take away the lives of others, not those why steal pennies and dimes. If you need a scholarship to increase you level of education, let me know.
