When I saw the heading I got interested in reading the contents of the article..My expectation was to find something that outlines what defines the identity of a true African...Unfortunately I could not find any..All I found is an opinion which to me sound like somebody who is very bitter and at the same time boasting...What the media people are interested in is giving us stories behind all the events and people involved...Currently the stories making headlines are Zimbabwean Crisis,Inflation and Economic Issues in Zim etc...When media sees Uncle Bob,they want to get explanations on the above issues, thats why they would scrumble, not because they like him...On the issue of Khama not being supportive of Uncle Bob,I dont blame him...I mean, who in his right mind would support a person who stand for elections and declare himself a winner alone...?The issue which should be at the centre of discussion should be reviving the Zimbabwean economy, not pointing fingers at people who do not have anything to do with those issues like President Khama....

The crowd and media were only interested in seeing the leader that has contributed to so much poverty in Zim. They have head so much about him and were wondering what he was doing at the funeral of his archcritic. We only have respect for elders otherwise the people of zambia air the same sentiments about mugabe as mwanawasa did.
Love him or hate him, blood and not skin is what unites us and is the truth.
Intellectual prostitute Caesar Zvayi should be the last scoundrel to make such silly observations on a very prestigious State President who is not frightened to call a spade a spade.
Khama is a hero to those who are trying to promote genuine democracy. Unlike the notorious hero who was supposed to protect his citizens, but who has turned into a monster thirsty of the blood of the able sons and daughters of Zimbabwe.
Caesar Zvayi, the Mugabe spy planted in Botswana, is spiteful because he cannot digest the fact that Mugabe's own spies denounced him to the Botswana authorities. He became Mugabe's golden-eye boy. He now lives in a very comfortable villa given to him By Mugabe in compensation of his prostituting his intelligence in service of an illegitimate regime.
This filthy Herald writer really doesn't stop. You're accomplishing nothing. The ship is sinking with you. Ian Khama is loved by his people. Mugabe is not. Why couldn't Mugabe stop the violence that bedeviled Zimbabwe during those sham elections. Mugabe is the one not abiding by basic tenets of humanity. You cannot stop the rain!!! Mark my words. Mugabe will die a shamefull death. God will not let it go until He teaches Mugabe.
Zvayi, Khama's decision to deport you was for your own safety. We did not want to be taught by someone associated with murderer Mugabe.
Poor Zvayi. I understand your grumbling. I can imagine the pain. I fully comprehend your predicament. No sane person can expect you to heal so quickly. I’m sure not even Dr Phil would be able to bring your soul to normal rest. You are still bitter and hurting, but who wouldn’t? I mean, if Professor Good literally shed tears when he was sent back to Australia what do we expect from someone sent back to hell, I mean Zimbabwe(is there any difference?). By the way, here I’m responding to Caesar Zvayi‘s trivial attack on President Ian Khama in a letter he published in the Herald newspaper titled Khama: Blood, not skin, is what unites us. From his letter it is quite evident Zvayi, despite rumours he’s been welcomed with a luxurious house and a vehicle by Mugabe, cannot cope, accept and live with the fact that he’s been declared persona non grata in this paradise called Botswana.
I have always maintained that education maketh no man. Zvayi’s president is a typical example of this observation. With his seven degrees (attained through correspondence) he still can’t detach himself from tomfoolery. Caesar Zvayi is clearly swimming in the same lake of confusion. But then again, Zvayi comes across as Mugabe’s toilet paper, so there’s no how he can escape being smeared with his master’s mess. Only a nincompoop of Zvayi’s league can label President Mwanawasa’s funeral as an African gathering. Zvayi says President Khama left “his cocoon in Gaborone to finally join other African leaders at an African gathering”. What a silly assertion. Zvayi goes on to cry out that our president was sporting a ring on the finger of his left hand. As far as I’m concerned it takes a lot of admiration to examine someone up to the fingers. Yes Zvayi, it might be common that the third finger is reserved for the nuptial manacle but then who said it is sacred, evil or unlawful to wear that ring out of wedlock? Zvayi, as much as you are surprised that our president wears a ring despite being a bachelor, we are equally surprised that your president continues to rape the Zimbabwean democracy despite resentment from the masses. Don’t even mention the re-run elections because there never was an election there. You elect between two or more parties but on June 27 Mugabe, like a mad man, took to the tracks alone. How absurd. It is not in our (Batswana) nature and culture to insult elders. It is not even within my principles to attack any leader, even illegitimate ones. However, I subscribe to the notion that what is good for the goose has to be good for the gander. It is in this regard that I elect to be more personal in my rebuttal. I am just emulating you Caesar.
True to the Herald newspaper’s tendency of being foolishly economic with the truth, you assert that our president “has never been married, does not have a girlfriend, has not been romantically linked to one in his 57 years of bachelorhood”. If your upbringing was instilled with the norms and values found in normal families around Africa, you would have known very well that such utterances towards elderly people are not only rude but unfortunate and expose your wrecked, wicked and execrable manners. I respect my president so much I get goose bumps when I think of discussing his love life in newspapers but then again, I cannot allow your knee jack deliberations go unchallenged. Khama is not only my president but an elderly man who deserves respect that you would normally be expected to extend to all your old timers. Assuming you are right about my president’s loneliness, don’t you think he is better than Mugabe who unashamedly frolicked and fornicated with his then secretary, Grace, while he was married to Sally? Zvayi, you are well read, you ought to know by now that our constitution does not call for direct presidential election. So I cannot fathom your vacuity as you label our president unelected. Our constitution also empowers the president to get rid of bad elements like you. Because of our constitution and adherence to democratic principles you will never hear of silly power sharing talks here. Zvayi, your country’s constitution outlines that elections should be held to determine who occupies the state house. Such elections should be held in a democratic manner without fear, victimization, sabotage and intimidation. They should be held in a fair and free atmosphere. Zvayi, in your heart of hearts you know very well that none of the aforementioned tenets prevailed prior and during your country’s elections. It is just a figment of your imagination that President Khama is badmouthing Mugabe. In any case who would badmouth Mugabe when he has managed to bad-act himself before the entire world? In fact, as you rant and rave about the crowd’s reaction and the stampede from the media when Mugabe arrived in Zambia, I want to make it clear that it did not mean he is eminent or a latter-day hero. You see Zvayi, what you need to realize is, bad characters attract public and media attention. When murderers and people who have committed heinous crimes make appearances at the courts of law, the courtroom gets packed. They do so to get a glimpse of such wayward characters and to get affirmation that indeed we do have bad people amongst us. The media trip over themselves because bad publicity sells. It is in the same vein that Mugabe attracts media attention. I mean, what would they write about President Khama that would sell their papers? It is the bad old timers like your leader who bring us abnormal news. It is absolutely stupid for you to suggest that by occupying the front seat at Mwanawasa’s funeral meant some kind of significance and heroism on Mugabe. Obviously with so many heads of state in attendance, they could not all occupy that front seat. You are so childish Caesar. You can ululate that your master was addressed or is being recognized as president by other states but that alone does not legitimize his self imposed presidency. We are a compassionate and caring nation and are pained by ZANU PF’s continued oppression on Zimbabweans and it is for this reason that our government has decided to take a principled stance against your illegitimate government. It is amazing how you continue to blame the West for your country’s ordeal when the truth is, Mugabe and his puppets are the ones dragging their country down the drain. President Khama’s ring is just a trifling matter, this is no time for levity, Zimbabweans need to be rescued from penury. It’s painful when a lot of Zimbabweans suffer while the old-boy network of Mugabe and his clique sway in opulence. Some of us are informed enough to know where Mugabe’s hatred for the West comes from. It is purely personal and should have never clouded Mugabe’s brain, resulting in his resentment of the West which eventually led to the economic meltdown in Zimbabwe. Mugabe’s hatred for the West started way back in 1970.While he was still locked up in a jail in Salisbury, Mugabe discovered his wife’s immigration status was at risk as the British government was planning to throw her out of the country. He wrote letters to almost all authorities including the office of the British Prime Minister requesting them to allow his wife to stay in Britain. Worse for them, Mugabe and his wife were still mourning the death of their three year old son, Nnhamodzenyika, who had succumbed to a severe attack of malaria in Ghana. Mugabe’s plea fell on deaf ears as his wife never got the British citizenship or the visa as per his request. To add salt to injury, while refusing to grant Mugabe’s wife a visa, the British government granted a work- visa to Ian Smith’s step son, Robert. Definitely Mugabe was incensed by news of the treatment given to Ian’s step son while his wife was denied the same opportunity. Mugabe’s brooding frustration and indignation, which would later develop into a naked hatred of all things British, is now haunting the ordinary Zimbabweans. Zimbabweans must be cursing 27 January 1992, the date on which Sally Mugabe died. He was to later marry his South African mistress, Grace Marufu. Unlike Sally who always cautioned his husband against extreme politics, Grace spends most of her time in front of the mirror and is possessed with shopping. Mugabe has now become a qualified tyrant.
