Being the largest consumers of products made elsewhere is not as beneficial to us as being the largest producer of products consumed elsewhere. Why South Africa-made MTN still dominates Nigeria's market when Glo is Nigerian owned beats me. Let us patronize our own - it will benefit Nigeria if Glo is our sole provider thereby keeping the sales, market share and profit at home rather than exporting our hard-earned money to SA and other foreign providers. Only if the Nigerian govt can provide adequate power supply, there will be a surge in Nigerian entrepreneurship and manufacturing that will dominate not only West African but African markets as well, thereby wean us off the current over-dependence on crude oil only while fed govt is buying guns to kill & marginalize the owners of the goose that keeps laying the golden egg - it is an unconscionable offense that even Allah himself will condemn. This is the reason we clamor for King Tarry-A-Doer to get off his high horse, roll up his sleeves and get the nations' infrastructure on a modern scale and capability before the window of opportunity we have now closes. Our people are ingenious when there is an enabling environment.
