Dear Elder,
Thanks for the insight. One of my assignments while doing a marketing degree was to sell life insurance to the then buppie class in ZW. wE ARE TALKING CIRCA 19 86 her, before the advent of the Aids Pandemic. My observation was that we as black people can only sometimes see no further than the next day. SA``S TIME WILL COME. WE ZIMBOS USED TO SCORN ZAMBIA AND MOCAMBIQUE. NOW LOOK.......WATCH THIS SPACE
Sean, I do agree with you how Zimbabweans used to look down on Zambians and Malawians. I remember vividly on a train from Byo to Vic Falls when the subject was Zambians. Most Zimbabweans scornfully called all Zambians idiots and very lazy...Aha...I wonder what Zambians are saying of Zimbabweans!! What goes around can come back.
Luckily Zambian and Malawian people are not vindictive. Even when Mugabe was so arrogant passing such uncharitable remarks towards the illness of the late Mr Mwanawasa, the Zambian people remained cool and I greatly admired them.
South African immigration must be kind enough and speedily processs these visitors who need nothing but food, thus creating markets and jobs for RSA. The queues at RSA border post clearly show how hard-hearted these immigration officials are. They are in deep slumber, they cannot read the signs of the times. With the Rand falling as it is, and political turmoil in ANC; with their many unresolved political issues - they are missing the point that they will be next when Zimbabwe's ripe old dictator has joined his master for eternity - I mean Satan, sadly!
