The first Tripartite Summit ended in Kampala yesterday with leaders from 26 African countries belonging to the three regional economic blocs in East and southern Africa resolving to merge the blocs into a single regional market.

It doesn't take rocket science to understand that a president who rigs elections endups "rigging" economics too. The people who cheat in elections undermine economic development as well. Until a linkage is made and enforced between good governance and good economics these talking shops are just that: gab fests. If a guy steals an election what basis or credibility does he or she have to delibarate on the economics and economic development. African mis-leaders are running African in circles, endless loops that go no where. The truth is: elections thieves are equivalent to economics ruiners.
