What are the root causes of the debacle in Congo? This is never brought up in this mass hysteria of outrage against the suffering of Humanity. He who claims sympathy without questioning the genesis of the crisis is being disingenuous or at the least wants to repress his or her culpability. The tragedy in Congo was wrought by the foreigners whose arms and amunitions are found with both the government troops and the rebels. They support both sides even when officially partisan. I say that were it not for the foreign powers meddling in our affairs, Africa would've long ago achieved unprecedented stability and prosperity; because no dictator could, without the full backing of American's the britts, the frenchs, possibly quell the mass reprisals of the people in demand of Justice and their rights. Kabila is no more of an ally to the Americans than Nkunda is. Both of them play a crucial role of destablising the country and the region. Pay close attention to the mainstream and local newspapers in the U.S. in the coming weeks and months. We will witness a flurry of "reporting" largely propaganda discrediting UN and questioning the potency of its forces to protect civilians in Africa. And slowly Africom will be introduced as an alternative. So all should expect, not just congo, but Rwanda, Uganda, Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Somalia, Djibouti to be drawn into some conflict within the near future. This is the new strategy........ Ngundeng
The UN still does not understand the nature of this conflict or it is simply ignoring it. The UN forces must stop supporting the FARDC allied to Interahamwe, this is simple. FARDC is defeated therefore, their men must disarm, and hand over to the UN forces. Only the UN forces supported by CNDP forces should ensure security accross Eastern Congo. This would lead to a creation and traing of an effective police force trusted by the whole population in Goma and the region. Innocent Tutsi fleeying to Gisenyi in Rwanda, who is speaking for them? Is this not an other evidence that Kunda's grievencies are legitimate.
