Garowe Online (Garowe)

A well-informed confidential source reports from Mogadishu that the factions in Somalia's official capital city are already looking beyond a withdrawal of Ethiopian occupation forces and the demise of the country's Transitional Federal Government (T.F.G.), which has depended on Ethiopian military protection for its very existence.

If the piece is drafed by the good Doctor, I could only say that either he is not aware of the circustances under which the Ethiopian army entered into Somalia OR he knowingly is trying to ignore them.
To remind the good Doctor and Garowe Online for that matter, the Ethiopian army intervened in support of the TFG which is regonized by the International Community. It is a blatant lie to say that the Ethiopia army invaded Somalia or the army was an occupation force. I strongly believe that Somalia is better off without the hardline Islamist.
It is very hard to predict what will the situation be in somalia after the withdrawal of the courageous Ethiopian army. As usual neither the African Union nor the UN have the political will to tackle the current problem relating with the peace keeping force. So, if we go by the lesson from the past, Somalia would probably again be the breeding ground of Islamic extremists. I wish the contrary will be true.
