In all fairness, even in the western world, you do not just grab a man and throw him in prison for child support.

There are many other ways of getting the guy to support his child.

1. the amount in question can come directly from his pay check on a monthly basis and pay to the mother through either his office or the government.

2. Or there could be a plan where he pays the amount to his supervisor or superior officer, and remitted therefrom to the mother with appropriate receipt issued.

3. Discuss the issue throughly with the guy, and as a human being I'm sure he will resolve to pay something to the mother himself on a monthly basis.

Moreover the root cause of him not willint to pay should be found out. nowadays child support is not just one way. both parents do contribute, because some girls use child support as a money making venture. the reason the guy is unwilling to pay could be her fault. to err is human and to forgive devine. the guy is a human being and could have a change of mind after discussions have been held.

In all fairness, throwing a man in prison because the child's mother report that the father is refusing to give support for his child is stright out wrong, wrong, wrong. this is a violation of the man's right.

One question, though how many Liberian out there, who are not supporting their children have been thrown in prison? or is it that there is not one

"In all fairness," why should the laws of the territory of Liberia conform, ape, or whatever the laws of the United States of America? On this one Liberia wins, hands down: you sire the baby, you feed the baby, period and out.

Or, do you contend that the jurisprudence of the USa is universal jurisprudence, to be copied by its "others" in Africa and elsewhere: the subalterns of that amoebic concept called "the Western World"?

Do you know that, a long time ago, "America" was considered the land of nihilism by John Locke and other philosophic ideologues of a dirempted Euorpe?

It sounds very funny. Liberia exercising child support's law? Is that happening to every Liberian living in Liberia or just foreigners living in Liberia?

When African fathers start feeding their babies, then the dependency of SOME AFRICAN TERRITORIES on 'Western aid' will abate, perhaps.

Before a family court orders a father named to pay child support for a child born out of wedlock, DNA should be administered to establish whether he is the biological father of that child or not. If he is the father, it is his responsibility to pay child suport.

However, the above mentioned has not be established, and the Monrovia City Court is ordering him to pay child support, that is not fair to Jaalingo Lulle Turi. In case, he is paying child support, and is being established that he is not the father of the child, will the court returns the payment he made. I would like to recommend to the Monrovia City Court that a DNA should be administered to Turi to establish whether he is the father or not.

This ain't no church or refuge for believers in the unseen. Where is your evidence that a DNA test to establish paternity was not administered by the prosecutorial authoritites?

Or, do you attribute phenomenal professional incompetence to the Monrovia City Court? All the same, produce YOUR evidence!
