Aja Dr Isatou Njie-Saidy, vice-president and secretary of state for Women's Affairs, has strongly encouraged the formation of the National Women's Federation, purposely to augment the capacity of women organisations and groups, as well as to enable government to provide more meaningful support to women's groups through an umbrella body.
