Since the end of the 11-year civil war in 2002, Sierra Leone has made limited progress in addressing the issues that gave rise to the conflict: Endemic corruption, weak rule of law, widespread poverty and the inequitable distribution of the country's national resources.

Salone has the laws. It has the structures. But NOBODY including the Auditor General and the Anti Corruption Commission will do their jobs properly, fearlessly and honestly. I feel sorry for a country where there is no ethics and no honesty - even the Christian Churches pray to get wealthy!
The farce of anti-corruption, you mean? Soupist politics is another name for corruption. Why, soupist pray for nothing else but for the expansive growth of corruption opportunities.
And, opportunities they have had: from Milton to EBK.

Talking change to corruption, corrupt practices, embezzlement of government funds with impunity, the use and misuse of the national revenues for personal benefits,the signing of fake contracts,duplicity, double dealing, bribery and corruption, self aggrandisement by public officials: ministers, civil servants, the judges, the police, the armed forces, parastals, and the NGO'S, who are entrusted by the people and charged with the important responsibility of carrying out the national projects and state functions, HELL KNOWS will not be enough without the big stick, and will only make sense with the introduction of a strict body of laws that impose long prison time to life in the penitentiary.The fact is, in memory, every government have come and passed yet, no laws have been introduced in the house of parliament which just a few, was asking for more pay raise,or some cabinet resolutions being adopted, to control this killer diseases from becoming the uncontrolable impulses which seem to now be addmitted as the only normal way of running things or doing business,the reason to kill for political power and the prime reason of the rebel war consequently, poverty and backwardness.Corruption in high places, corruption everywhere,and corruption to the core.No one had been seriously punished for all to see the example for stealing from the national coffers. From ALHAJI Ahmad Tejan Kabba in the late sixties to Pa Shaki in the late seventies and to MOMOH in the late eighties,and to again, PA kabba in 2000's.It is just talk, please! OURS is the only country of ADAM where corrupt practices have been justified WITH cliche like "UH SAI DEN TIE COW NAR DEY E DEI EAT" bull shit !
