It is sad but not unexpected that such an incident has claimed so many lives in Nigeria. Maybe it will make us now focus on the processes that certifies drugs and other products safe for human consumption. In my opinion, i think NAFDAC has failed in this regard because just about anything in this country has a NAFDAC registration number which in a way encourages people to use products that may be unsafe. Lastly it is so typical that the executive officer of the drug company that manufactured this product feels no sense of guilt or even sympaty for those families that have lost loved ones. The only thing he has done is to deny the product has caused deaths.I hope when it has been proved that the drug caused the deaths, there should be litigation.
