Sad that your son died under those strange circumstances in Ghana. I don't know if you are aware of Ghanaians and Africans whose disappearances and deaths in the US have gone uninvestigated or ignored. Stuff happens you know, unfortunate as they may be.
I am saddened to hear that Ghanaians or anyone else dies unnecessarily. The difference is that my son was helping to train the Ghana Navy and this is the "thanks' that he received. On top of that the US has given millions of dollars to help the Ghanaian people. If I do not receive a 'proper' response, I will be taking the issue nationwide in the US to defund any money to Ghana.

This Sunday, December 7, the people of Ghana will go to the polls to elect a new President and National Assembly. This will be the second transfer of power between presidents through the democratic process and the fifth national election held since Ghana ended military rule in 1992. Meanwhile, in the past eight years, Ghana has become one of Africa's success stories.

"The lesson of Ghana’s recent history is clear: responsible leadership and good governance matter, and can propel long-underdeveloped African nations closer to parity with world powers faster than anyone thought possible. ... This is a really weak argument. Tanzania is nowhere near being a world power. Tanzania under Kikwete has accomplished nothing, save for obtaining a bunch of U.S. funding through the MCC. Kasi mpya, ari mpya, nguvy mpya, my foot! The Kikwete government should be ashamed of its corruption scandals (EPA and mining contracts), its crackdown on freedom of the press and its continued failure to protect minority albinos from brutal witchcraft killings.

My son Patrick Mack, a US sailor, died in Accra New Years Day under strange circumstances. The NBI did not investigate, rather they had the GNP do their job. How can we epect them to be honest when they run from their duties in investigating crimes?
