My advice to MDC is that Zanu PF should first coin a new name for an opposition party before they decide to join a government of national unity. I have seen a post on this site which made me think otherwise, Zanu PF has no vernecular word for opposition they call an oppostion party or member vatengesi or mutengesi - sellout. Until Zanu PF puts its terms correctly no sane person would join such a silly setup where you are called sellout and they call themselves non-sellouts.

The 57% did not vote for Morgan either. Therefore he should be humble and patriotic enough to respect the SADC summit's recommendation for a government of national unity. Otherwise the security agents are right to suspect that he and his supporters are up to some mischief.

ZimPatriot. The way I see it, and you'll probably disagree, but the first election was, in my mind won by Tsvangirai. I have no doubt that he won more than the 50% required. You can give all the excuses in the world, but there really is no reason why results should take 6 weeks to come out. And there are some pretty strong rumours that individual results posted on the front of each polling station on the day of the election showed that Tsvangirai did indeed have the 50% required.

If Mugabe truely believed that he had the 50% of support required in the run off election, he would have not unleashed the campaign of violence and intimidation that saw members of the army forced to vote for him, 130 odd MDC supporters murdered etc etc in the run off. If Mugabe truely believed that he had the 50%, he would have run a free and fair election, and shown the world that he is truely the democratically elected President of Zimbabwe. If he had the 50% behind him, why the need for all the violence and re-education camps?

So in reality, Tsvangirai should be the President of Zimbabwe, and Mugabe should be the opposition leader. Unfortunately Mugabe, in his campaigned tried to create an image of Tsvangirai being a puppet of the west, and completely the face of his completely moronic view that the west want to recolonise Zimbabwe. He basically called Tsvangirai every name under the sun from a prostitute to a whore etc. Imagine if Obama had called Clinton a whore.

Anyways, at the end of the day, the true democratic reflection of the will of the people would be with Tsvangirai as President. And I think its pretty hard to argue against this.

Unfortunately greed for power has got in the way of this. And fear for prosecution for the wrongs of the Mugabe government also. They would have to fear prosecution for the Ndebele massacre plus all the corruption that currently sits in the ZANU PF government.

All a bit of a mess really. And the resolution has to be whats best for the people of Zimbabwe. Agree? And the reality is that international organisations will not want to invest in Zimbabwe with Mugabe and the corrupt Zanu PF in power. How can they guarantee that the money will go to where its supposed too? Answer is they cant. Remember the $7.3 million that went missing from the Global Fund?

The FACTS are J-hollow: 85% Unemployment; 231 MILLION per cent inflation (unofficially it is "quadrillions"); 30% of the population has left the country; Schools are closed for lack of instructors AND lack of clean drinkng water; Hospitals are closed for lack of supplies & wages; the Police arrest people and then deny they have arrested them - then, when they are confronted with that lie, they then make up another.

I will call my doctor, and will schedule an appointment after which I can be provided with any medications I require........... AND I will NOT be required to pay the bill in foreign currency.....

I will call myCongressman/woman to register my comlpaints as to the current state of service delivery (i.e. clean water, sanitation, education and healthcare)......

I will register my complaints with non-governmental institutions like Justine Mukoku's, I will not lay awake at night wondering if the CIO or JOC has recorded my address or might come in the night to arrest me for "seditious conduct"..........

I will go to the bank, or the supermarket, where they allow me free access of my saving via electronic bank-transfer........ No lines, just the inconvenience of pnching in my PIN code.... all of my money, available at the touch of a button....

I will go to the market, where the prices have not changed for some 2 years, to purchase my groceries........ I will find bread, beef, pork, lamb, and chicken for sale at much the same prices as were available several years ago

Is ANY of this beyond the abilities of ZANU-PF/Mugabe to provide their citizens? I would hope not, but the TRUTH is a far more bitter pill to swallow......

Yes there is something the US can do. Even if the foray in Africa by previous adminstrations failed it is time to think the unthinkable.

Despite the disastrous end to Somalian humantarian effort and failure to save Rwanda from the genocide it is time for the US to act on behalf of the persecuted Africans living in murderous tyrannical states.

Clinton helped free the Balkans, Bush W has helped free Iraq, Obama should help free Africa by getting rid of sensless and mindless tyranny in Africa.

He could start from Sudan or Zimbabwe, it doesn't matter but the message has to be sent to the rest of African tyrants that the rest of world cannot stand by and watch the sensless human degradation and morass.

I know the shameless perpetrators of the wanton pogroms on the African continent will always scream neo-colonialism or racism, but they should rightly be ignored. The next adminstration come 2009 should act to stop the genocide in Darfur - even if it means invading Sudan, and effect regime change in Zimbabwe. It is not like it is as expensive as removing the Iraqi tyrant, Saddam Hussein or the Serbian tyrant, Slobodan Milosevic.

It is demoralizing to see how African countries, especially the Bantu states of SADC and in particular South Africa, are letting down the people of Zimbabwe. The Zimbabweans sacrificed so much to help South Africa during apartheid now SA pretends to be doing something while in fact it shows no compassion for the suffering Zimbabwean masses under Robert Mugabe’s misrule. It must be remembered that it was not Robert Mugabe who helped the South Africans; it was the masses of Zimbabwe! It was the same masses of Zimbabwe who helped the freedom fighters against the colonial rulers. Mugabe never risked his life in the bushes of Rhodesia fighting. He was busy planning and killing other liberation leaders in the Front Line States. Mugabe usurped power from the other potential leaders until he was left with J Nkomo. He then murdered over 20,000 people in Matebeleland in order to bring ZAPU under his ZANU. Robert Mugabe has been, and still is, a murderous tyrent who never tolerated criticism or challenge. South Africas hero and liberator Mandela never pretended that he had God-given rights over the citizens of South Africa. Why can’t the present leadership of South Africa use the splendid example of the dignified of liberation leaders, N Mandela, to persude the evil dictator in Zimbabwe to stand down? How can Africa rise up and participate in the international families of nations and races when it cannot even solve its own minor problems? The present Africa shows a gross lack of common justice to itself and its peoples. As a logical consequence, Africa is plundered more than ever before by other peoples and its so called leaders, like Mugabe have drained the resources from Africa and sent them to Europe, USA and Asia where they get arms to further repress their own peoples! He exiled himself in Botswana for more than three months anticipating that the govt of President Robert Mugabe will be toppled by December 2008 - the President is getting stronger and stronger everyday. When Zimbabwe was hit by the cholera outbreak, he thought it was the best chance for him to have his masters and Khama invade our country because of the disease – created and spread in Zimbabwe by the same imperialists in the first place.

When this did not happen, he found himself in a dilemma – unable to decide whether to continue listening to Anglo-Euro-American axis of evil or to go back to Zimbabwe, as per the invitation letter from President Mugabe and the recommendation of SADC to form a govt of national unity.

This is his dilemma and this has been compounded by the fact that his main masters, Jendayi and McGee, representing Bush, are leaving office in a matter of days and not months. The sellout is confused and does not know what to do next as he is not sure what the foreign policy of the in-coming Obama administration is going to be, especially towards Zimbabwe.

Another major problem facing the idiot is the power struggle and internal divisions within the sellout party. Biti has emerged as a serious contender for the top post which the idiot does not want to relinquish after his two terms expire in February 2009. It is therefore a do-or-die kind of situation being faced by the confused fool.

Add to all this, the arrest and evidence thereof linking Tsvangirai to bandits trained in Khama’s Tswana land and you will see that the fool has no option but to go back home and face the music. Supporters have abandoned him, his party is in disarray and his masters are leaving office without presenting Mugabe’s head on Bush’s dinner table.
