NIGERIANS are in distress. Buffeted by hunger, poverty, illiteracy and diseases for years, they have entered the terminal consequences of decades of neglect by governments that profess to serve the people. Now, they have to cope with the global financial crisis.

The govt can start by having Speaker Bankole use his power of persuasion, if he has any & if he is not a stooge on the northern power brokers that installed him, to return the cars back to PAN and donate the entire 3 Billion Naira stolen from the mouth of our poor, to feeding them. If anybody needs belt-tightening it should come from the top. For instance, our multi-millionaire-Emperor yar could set good example for his subordinates by donating his entire annual salary and encourage his Ministers, the Legislature and the Judiciary to do likewise. Now, let's see who amongst these overnight millionaires-with-no-job-to-show-how-they-earned-it would be willing to make such sacrifice for our poor - that would be the day.
