It is not a matter of whether or not Yar’Adua "may have shelved the much-awaited declaration of a state of emergency in the power sector"; the "EMERGENCY" has already been shelved since May 2007 when the "Opposition" sore losers began their court challenge to unseat a man who won over 70% votes. In his desperate attempt to create a unity govt (which he doesn't need given his overwhelming mandate), Yar decided to side with the corrupt by turning our Reformers into Pariahs. How can he declare "Emergency" when what the media and political operatives care about is to applaud and encourage the unproductive political wrangling while the reforms were relegated into the backburner? Now let's blame the global economic meltdown for our collective foolishness of abandoning what should have been urgent in favor of frivolities of some greedy men more concerned about fighting for their selfish ambition as the nation and the people they pretend to represent wallow in further neglect and darkness. Y'all deserve what you get - mediocrity. The train has already left the station - too late to cry over split milk, now.
