If wishes were horses, beggars, they say, would ride. But in the light of the barrage of good wishes exchanged in Nigeria during the last Christmas and New Year, we could give this aphorism the magic touch of Nigeria and say instead: if wishes horses, Nigeria would have become a better place by now.
