Hallo to all am a Nigerian living in Germany. What i will like to comment on this, is that, Nigeria show know that no one like them even those that we are helping every day around Africa don’t even want to see any person call a Nigerian.
this problem is been cost by our Government, I calling our Government is because of what i saw in Douala Cameroon in year 2000,i visited my brother there and i need to apply for a resident permit so we have to go to the police station to give them my finger print, ask me what i saw there!!!!!!???? My God i am still crying for my Country Nigeria, if am not mistaking i saw about 80 Nigerians in one room sell shouting call me brother please take this number and call my people in Nigeria to let them know where they are, as am writing this now my brothers and sisters i am crying now,
I went to the Nigeria consulate in Douala Cameroon and inform them of what is going on, did you know the diplomats that our Government sent to be taking care of his citizen’s says to me that they are all illegal immigrant that don’t want to pay for their resident permit and I replied to him must the die because of resident permit why don’t you ask Cameroon Government to send them back to Nigeria? As i ask this question what did they do? The send me out of the office, As a Nigerian you know what I mean, who am I to talk to a diplomat like that
So coming back to the Lucky Dube issue, Is time Nigerian Government should value their citizens all over the world and don’t be afraid of losing your contact around Africa and all over the world the need you as you need them God bless Nigeria

What is the babhinspride of a thing, imbécile que tu soufre, you said (yet u are every where in the world like ants) what are you doing where you are like a junction imbecile, what was your brother doing in SA before he was killed there, do you think Nigeria can compare Cameroon in stupidity? This is 18yrs I’m living in a society where all African are gathered, Nigerians are far, did you get me? I said far reputed than the Cameroonians. Say thanks for the little time I spent responding to your idiocy! Your brother was killed in SA because he went to do cambriolage.
I can’t see a reason why Cameroonians always arise when they hear of a Nigerian issue, Look you all Cameroonians let me tell you, a big ship always call for a deep ocean, hahahah if you knows what it means, call Nigeria a big ship and start thinking of what to do to develop your country, start thinking of what to do to remove Chantal Biya from that throne of leadership and acquire a man, I said a man with the fullness of manhood to rule your country, b/c if Paul / Chantal continue on that their sit of ages, that means there is no other man standing in that country, God forbid such a thing for Nigeria.
IDIOT NIGERIA IS A CROOK THAT Y YOU HAVE TO KILL THEM AND ROB THEM ROB THERE MONI NOW YOU HAVE KILL LUCKY DUBE AND U THINK HE IS A NIGERIAN POOR YOU SOUTH AFRICA YOU WILL SOON KILL MANDELA AND THINKK IS A NIGERIA FULLLSSSSS
Hi all!!! Infact it's a pity that we Africans are still in support of some nasty behaviours. Mr Zebedee, tries to tale a tale about how he visited Cameroon and he had to go to the police to acquire a residence permit. He further states that now he is in Germany. What he failed to tell us is that he's in Germany living free. Mypopism. Infact ,it's alarming the rate at which Nigerians are involved in crimes both at home and abroad, Especially those from the Eastern region. The Igbos are generally involved in narcotics and money laundering, while those from Akwa Ibom are gifted with a high degree of testoterone. They are chief rapist. They also asily use the matchet. Infact, the image of the country has been badly damaged that most Nigerians overseas are now holding but foreign passports. Nigerian pasports are always passed through the scanner and magnifying glass. Some folks acuse the gove't,Even Zimbabweans with their present situation are not as tremendous in crime as Nigerians. It's really a shame at the airports. You feel as if you a second handed something, the way Nigerians are treated. I'm sick !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know that u want me to understand that every bad thing in Nigeria come from Igbo land, But moving Nigeria forward is from ur side (eg) THIS:::
Nigeria: Wonder Bank Scam - EFCC Arrests Ladoja's Wife Wife of former Oyo State Governor, Rashidi Ladoja is presently in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), for allegedly floating a wonder bank, Daily Trust learnt yesterday
Do not act the victim here.Nigeria herself has had its own violations. There is no space here for me to tell you stories but foreigners have been occassionally targeted and violated in Nigeria. While not condoning what happened in Cameroon,or the very sad incident in South Africa, you could have, at least seen the unfortunate difference in the two.I just hope that Nigerians would stay calm in the face of this revelation, hold their fears and continue to be strong and go about their business. They are a tough people.Let us,however, continue to pray for African unity.
The house of 419s if you could only wake up and check your country you are so blessed with allot but you want quick cash quick turn around i am a Zimbabwean but i do feel sorry for you coz you love quick cash and fast cash you cant earn it like that i went to school with allot of Nigerians over here in Europe and you guys have brains i tell you but that element of theft cant leave you guys even if the guy or lady is a doctor or Eng he thinks of easy cash you cant keep going that way for you will fail all the way you are the masters of 419 but where will you go when it all comes to and end even your women you can have a lady from Nigeria you will have problems all the way she wants to rob you all the time when will you guys ever learn you have oil in your back yard you are so divided and if you where together Nigeria would be the best in Africa wake up 419 is not the best
Tonybrown16, If as stated by you, you went to school with Nigerians in Europe and still you can,t correlate full sentences, what a poor student you,ve been. The assertion by you that every Nigerian and even the educated one,s always want,s to steal from somebody is pure madness from you and totally lacking in truth.Africans should know that there will be an end to Nigeria,s endurance and when they(Nigerians) are finally pushed to the wall by fellow Africans the die will be cast and problems will arise. The problem has been the inability of majority of Africans to shake off the burdens (personally) of colonialism and it,s inherent byproducts and they take solace in blaming all their pains and setbacks on other Africans who try to shelve those burdens of colonialism which states that Africans are not good enough and can,t succeed,Nigerians have proved them(racists colonialists) wrong over and over again and instead of other African brothers and sisters copying the good things and ways to the top from Nigerians, they resort to petty jealousy that,ll take them nowhere. If you can state here that all Nigerians practice "419" then you are obviously retarded, but I,m trying to address a greater audience hence my reply.Grow up or get stuck where you are, which is obviously nowhere.
People have been talking about Nigeria and they have this view about Nigerians. The shameful thing about it all is that some Nigerians, though decent, hard-working, clean and forward looking accept the definition.
What is happening to Nigerians all over the world is naturally engineered to ensure that Nigeria do not attain any height in Africa. Matters are made worst by the myopic leaders that could not read the handwriting on the wall. If there is electricity, effective communication, security and good social amenities in place I wonder what Nigerians will be doing in other countries.
Despite the fact that Nigerians abandoned their homes because of the aforementioned, some Africans and other nationals find the place a greener pasture.
Those people killing Nigerians or looking at Nigerians from another perspective are nothing but criminals themselves. They are not clean and decent human beings.
This is a worrisome development from those who are supposed to be our Brothers. Is it now a crime for Nigerians to live and work in South Africa??? This must be followed up to a logical conclusion. Having said this, i implore fellow Nigerians to watch their backs not only in SA but elsewhere.
Although truth is bitter and hard to swallow, yet it is better to speak the truth than to keep quiet and watch the world goes crazy. If South African Newspaper could have written it on the page of its newspaper that Luky 1Dube was killed because he was mistakened to be a Nigerian, then it is clearly shown that the killer must have been a South Africa man himself or somebody from any other part of the world who hates Nigerians living in South Africa.OR maybe the newspaper is trying to boost their sales by written such story. Why do they leave the leprosy uncured and are paying attention to the common rashes?I think proper investigation should be carried out to track down the killer rather than printing badder dash in the newspaper to feed the world.
The world will stop fearing Nigerians when you guys decide to acquire money/wealth through the right means and not "419".You should ask yourselves why when one hears the word "Nigerian",he/she adjusts.
Dear Nigerians, it will take many generations to restore your reputation. You better work at it now. Separate yourselves from bad apples in your community. Stop trying to look like Congolese or Americans. Be yourselves.
Hello Everyone, Jesus Christ only asked one question, if you have not commited any sin cast the first stone. Nigeria is position centrally in the globe, nothing can change it, do you want to tell me that the first and second world war was caused by Nigerians, or it was Nigerian pilots that flew the planes that crashed into the world trade center, or was it Nigerians that caused that caused the war in the middle east. In the world today their are good and bad people, America has a prison population of over 2 million people of nationalities from all over the world. Their are good and bad Nigerians just as thier are good and bad people all over the world. I have travelled to so many parts of the world as a Nigerian and I am always proud to show my passport to anybody, I have bought things from Europe, Canada etc. and the companies allowed me to pay later, their still so many Nigerians who have the same experience as me, the richest black man in the world in a Nigerian based in Houston Texas with a very clean record, he recently donated $1M to his almamata in Texas, their are so many Nigerian Interllectuals all over the world nobody talks about them. You would find out in it all pareto's rule the 80/20 principle. The Nigerians that are not doing well are only 20% but 80% of the news is on them whereas 80% doing very well, you will only get to hear 20% news about them. Judgement day is coming very soon whether you believe it or not. To my friends in the International community please remember that their are so many good and hardworking Nigerians all over the world, so I would like you not to generalise. If Mr. A wrongs you say I was hurt by Mr. "A" not that I was wrong by a Nigerian. Thank you
Nigerians are not united but they are strong who can face whatever situations they encounter. Let's not forget that the white's are racist. South African are Known for racism. How can the south africa press publish such a story? Even a 10 years old child knowns who Lucky Dube is and where he came from. Lucky Dube is an icon known all over the world for his music. Let's not fool ourselve's, this is a pure racism statement which should be checkmate. Talking about Scam popularly know as 419 started from the Western World part of the world and they are still into it. So why is everybody so concerned about Nigeria? You People should understand that whoever is a victim of 419 became a victim because of greed. The Truth is bitter but it has to be said. God Bless u all.
NA SO IF YOU CAN NOT BEAT THEM YOU JOIN THEM
Theo, go to hell, Nigerians don,t wait for your respect as long as you are one sided and out of touch with reality. You as well totally failed to tell the world where fraud came from and how and why somebody can ever be a victim of fraud, you have a bad understanding of situations.Keep adjusting all your life when you hear the word "Nigerian", fools don,t admit that they are.
The alarm and outrage expressed by the Nigerian High Commissioner to South Africa should not be treated as an isolated incident. Everyday and elsewhere in the world, and at every entry point to any country, Nigerians are always singled out and treated with contempt and ignominy. I would daresay that the hatred shown towards Nigerians everywhere in the world should be a concern for the National Assembly, not only because some of the actions shown towards them smacks on racism, but, the mere sight of the Nigerian Passport by some immigration officials tends to recoil a frightening degree of convulsion that sometimes borders on sheer lunacy.
There is something inherently wrong with the way our Foreign Ministry operates. I do believe that this would not be the first time that this issue of Nigeria bashing has been brought to the fore. The unfortunate thing is that the National Assembly has been paying this issue a lip service. It is because of our inaction that countries like Indonesia, Singapore and Saudi Arabia take great pride in frying, hanging or beheading Nigerians at will.
The beauty of the United States is that they can account for every American citizen wherever they may be anywhere in the world, and at any time of the day. The case for a South African music icon killed because of a mistaken identity strikes a frightening tone in the minds of any good thinking person. How does one go about saying sorry for having killed another because they could not contain their hatred? South Africa, as a country must look outside itself and note that Nigerians contributed immensely towards their liberation struggles. Nigerians are not asking for any special treatment rather, a chance for every individual that steps on its shores to find ways of making a living "legally".
But, as we reflect on this sad incident, it must be noteworthy to observe that, not long ago, our very own Northern Nigerian governments used to grant "expatriate" status to Nigerians they employ from either the South, East or Western parts of the country. I have always wondered why we treat each other differently. Perhaps, all these foreign elements received their cues from us, because we have never learned to love each other. We profess love ONLY when such far-fetched aspirations involve the ultimate lip-service of comradrie, with the intentional view of siphoning the oil wealth beyond the shores of the country.
I have never seen a group of people that hate each other like Nigerians do. In public places, it is not enough to be identified with a fellow Nigerian as a Nigerian. The first question they ask you is: Which part of Nigeria are you from? The wrong answer usually produces a lukewarm reception, with a sudden move to exit into oblivion. To this degree, I have often taken issues with such concepts as "Ndi Igbo", "Oduduwa people", "The Arewa or Northern People's Congress". Why do we therefore, advocate for the concept of "One Nigeria" if we know full well that our ethnic differences would exacerbate and promote disunity to the degree that we would NEVER have consensus on anything.
It is perhaps, this perception that has made it impossible for us to form a united front to fight the scourge of abuses that Nigerians receive world-wide. It is almost to a point that I would personally advocate that "Nigerians" be listed by the United Nations as endangered species. Our central government is incapable of protecting its citizens. A good example, I recently visited Nigeria recently, and was appalled at the rat race at the airport. There were 1000 security checks, non of which cared about security. Their collective objective was to extract as much naira from the traveler as possible. The police watched with celestial approval in anticipation for their final tally for the day.
In the Niger Delta, check points were a source of tax collection from motorists who go about their daily businesses in earnest by members of the Nigeria Police Force. I can almost guarantee the reader that these funds collected would never see the coffers of the government. So, why do we treat each other so uncivilly? Somewhere along the line, our politicians must attempt to restore a sense of sanity to these processes of self-hatred. The Die is Cast. There is no turning back for our nation.
Hi,i dont know if u are a nigerian.but if u are then i think u are not living in the present times. when u talk about Americans taking an interest in thier citizens.America doest go crazy when its citizen is involved in criminal activities.NO!so too should be the case with any Govt of good will.the nigerian Govt cant praise a 419 dealer for having successfully concluded a deal?is that what u will expect the Govt to do?am sure yr reply will be NO. how i wish the could be a way for identifying Nigerians at a distance,so that other Africans should be spared being embarrased at international crossings. if i recieve say 20 spam mails,12 will be from nigerians or fake nigerian banks.they even write these crazy mails to my 12year old son.its really a disgrace. so put the blame on u,not the Govt.thanks and have a nice day.
Is it because South Africa spoke up that we are reacting? Where have we been all the while to the terrible treatments been meted out to Nigerians? Nigerians are generally maltreated and disregarded because the leaders do not care about the citizens. How can you explain the fact that a NIgerian graduate with 2.1 is a taxi driver in Ukraine?A masters degree holder i knows is a night security man at a train station in Italy? How many Nigerian girls are prostitutes in Napoli and Milan? We get what we should for the failur of successive leaders in Nigeria to work for the betterment of the country and her people. What is the solution? We either decide our fate or we continue endlessly praying Allah to intervene, which believe he will only do if we contribute our own quota.
If things should be handled with Godly aproach, then the editor of the said newspapper that carried the news should assist to unveil some facts that lead to the publication. how he got the news,........etc.
with all due respect i think the nigerian ambassador is overreacting. the view that lucky dube was mistaken for a nigerian was the view of the killers, criminals with evil intentions and he cannot task sane people to discuss such an issue. only the killers can explain why they targeted this particular person and why they thought he was nigerian. your excellency, please deal with international relations not criminal activities. let the police do that.
As a young, Kenyan student living in South Africa, I feel the need to add my two cents worth. South Africans generally have a big superiority complex when it comes to other Africans. On many occasions I have heard even educated men and women refer to Africans from other nationalities as 'africans', for instance one would say something like, "In my class we have 5 africans" or "She comes from africa" almost as though they view themselves as better than the rest of us. It is sad and I wonder how this mind set can be changed or reversed. In this light I must add that Nigerians are by far the most discriminated of the 'african' lot. In fact, anyone with a West African accent is regarded as a Nigerian and therefore subjected to the general harsh hostility and unfriendliness. South Africans and indeed all Africans need to realise that we are all one people. And the sooner the better for ur all.
Help has a limit, this is what our leaders fail to know.South Africa recent hatred for Nigeria could be likened to the behavior of ill-treated orphan who was saved from the mob of gangs by a good hearted traveller who took him home and nurtured him until he becomes a man,now that he becomes a man he sees the traveller as a witch. If Africa countries do not see themselves as one and co-operate together to move Africa forward i wonder what the future of the entire Africa countries will be in the next couple of years.

HONESTLY GOD WILL PAY BACK AT THOSE THAT THINK LIKE THAT FOR NIGERIAN. NIGERIAN WE AGREED WE HAVE OUR OWN PREBLEM, NO NIGERIA DON LIKE LUCKY DUBE AND IF AS YOU SAY LUCKY MAY BE FROM NIGERIA AND THAT WAS WHY HE WAS KILLED, THE KILLER HAVE NO REST AND THEY NO FULLY THAT GOD IS WATCHING THEM THEY HAVE MAN OF THE PEOPLE AND THEY WILL BE JUDGE TOO. SOUTH AFRICAN SAY YOUR MIND, WHAT HAVE NIGERIAN DONE TO YOU PEOPLE???? WHY DO YOU PUT NIGERIAN AT YOUR FONT LINE IN WHAT EVER YOU DO?? CAN THE PUBLISHER TELL THE WORLD WHERE HE GET THE INFORMATIONS. I DONT HAVE MUCH TO SAY THAN TO SAY THOSE THAT LOOK AT PEOPLE YASHE SHOULD NOT FORGET THAT THEIRS IS OUTSIDE TOO. THANK YOU SOUTH AFRICA TELL WILL TELL, IF I HAVE MY WAY NIGERIAN IN YOUR PLACE SHOUILD COME BACK HOME, AND DONT FORGET TREE DOS NOT MAKE FOREST
It would be xenophobic to frame most decent 'Nigerians' as criminals, because they are not.
In anycase, most territories of West and Central Africa have a significant load of bad apples. This is a manifestation of THE SOUPIST STRUCTURE that regulates West and Central African territorial politics. (On the the Doctrine of THE SOUPIST STRUCTURE in West and Central Africa, please see our explications in the West African sites of allafrica.com).
Of course, the political terrain in Southern Africa is different; while there may be some soupist elements, they do not determine the STRUCTURE of political interactions therein.
Finally, we have argued that we are reasonably certain that there are no nations in West and Central Africa, a result mandated by British and French imperialism, and other European imperialisms.
The current leaders of the soupist occupied territories of West and Central Africa inherited THE SOUPIST STRUCTURE from the mentioned imperialists, who created it to serve their interests.
The consequnces of this inheritance are perspicuous to require explication, but perhaps, a riff from Fela R. Kuti, may help: "Suffer, suffer, for what?"
Lucky Dube's killers you have the nerve. You cold blooded murderers. You and your conspirators are not going to get away with killing an innocent freedom fighter. Premeditating to kill Lucky was one thing bragging about it is another thing. South Africans have become too docile for my liking.
Comments and reactions to this sad story make an interesting reading from a number of perspectives. First, there is the reaction of the ambassador who takes it upon himself to react in a less than dignified manner to what appears to be an unsubstantiated claim about the motives of Mr Dube's assassin or assassins. He sets about expressing what some describe as outrage at the suggestion that Mr Dube might have been killed by persons mistaking him for a Nigerian. There is no word of condolence to the family of the deceased or any tribute to the talents of a musical legend nor is their any expression of sympathy with the South African people for the loss of a national treasure.
The words of the honourable ambassador reads like the words of an Alaba market stall trader - totally lacking in diplomacy or finesse. And it should concern us all that it is people of this calibre representing us - any wonder nobody respects us?
Second is the comments of the Nigerian contributors to this forum. The self-loathing that is evident in some of the comments is worryingly palpable. If people hate us so much We should have enough belief in ourselves to tell them who we really are.
If we do not represent ourselves positively in the face of so much mistrust, who is going to do it for us? Joining the crowd of name callers as a way of absolving ourselves of any blame in the eyes of the finger pointing world is an exercise in futility because in the eyes of those looking for a reason to hate, we are all just as guilty as one another.
My point is this, half the people who say bad things about Nigerians barely know anything about Nigeria or Nigerians besides the claptrap rubbish they are fed by an arrogant western media caught up in a pathological need for constant self validation on behalf of its audience. They don't see anything good in Africa other than Nelson Mandela and even he was labelled a communist-terrorist not so long ago. What most of us fail to see in the endless barrage of negative stories they carry about us is that there is a sub-text that says: "look how much we are better than these people" As at the last count, I understand there are at least 127 million Nigerians, No one person - not even the oldest living Nigerian who has lived all their life in the country can say they have met just 1% of that number of Nigerians - that's just 1.2 million people by the way. So, how can a bunch of foreigners who've never been to Nigeria or met more than a handful of Nigerians know so much about Nigerians and all they know is so negative?
Having said this, I should point out that I am fully aware of the Activities of the internet fraudsters operating out of cybercafes in Nigeria - I get a few amusing emails based in Nigeria. My view is that the widespread nature of their and the fact that they operate virtually unchallenged, is one more testimony to the failure of leadership and the complete lack Of imagination that seems to be the hall mark of government In Nigeria. In my humble opinion, It beggars belief that so damage is being done to the image of the country with such grave consequence for the economic viability of the country and the government has no reply! In the past 5 to 6 years, western governments have to invest Considerable amounts resource into fighting paedophile rings using the internet to prey on innocent children across international borders. Everyone knows about this but I haven't seen or heard of anyone giving the average British, Belgian or Austrian a hard time about rampant paedophilia instincts.
OH MY GOD, WHAT IS AN ALABA MARKET STALL TRADER?No nation in the world in all my travels and no people in the world have a dry sense of humor like Nigerians.I say this with all sincerity and I am not even from those parts! But a Nigerian will always bring humor to a hopeless situation.
Respectfully, the context and thematic of the thread make your well-intentioned essay to "lighten things up" (Bob Marley) ghoulish.
A vote for Marwa's reported response. Nigeria should wake up. The world needs us as we need it. Nigerians are the best people on earth. Only time will tell. But seriously, our government should wake up to responsible governance and care for its citizens.
This is the kind of reactions we expect from our leaders. Nigeria had Africa as the centerpiece of our foreign policy for over a decade and looked after interest of several African countries like South Africa, Liberia, Sierra Leonne etc but what we get in return now is nothing but insults all over the continent while our leaders refuse to address it. Bravo embassador Buba Marwa for speaking out for once. Similar strong words are required in Ghana amongst several others.
As a Nigerian, I find it rather sad, tragic and thought provoking that a star of Lucky Dube's stature was shot because they thought he was a Nigerian.
And why are we so disliked? That's putting it mildly. I should ask: Why are we so hated?
The loudest thing about it all is that it's a wake up call for the Nigerian government and Nigerian citizens to place a value on the country Nigeria and fellow citizens. No more talk, but talk that is matched with walk.
How I wish Lucky had attained a legendary status globally because they thought he was Nigerian , homegrown but now in diaspora. Tonye Jack, Abuja, Nigeria
I m a very proud but equality disillussioned Nigerian who realises that there is a lot of trut about what has been said of the criminiality of Nigerians. Firstly, I am (still) a big Lucky Dube fan, but also have the priviledge of knowing that he did not like Nigerians - that is a fact. It is dreadfully ironic to think that he was killed by peolple who thought he was a Nigerian.
Secondly, Nigerian criminality is legendary. The problem truthfully comes from the top. We have a nation of 150 million people with no work to do. Some are very highly educatd graduates who out of desperation have put their skills and education to the wrong use. This is due to a vacuum of good leadership. How can we get good leaders when the best we seem to hve are the same old recycled half dead hegemons who have bled the country almost dry over the decades?
Thirdly, can someone tell me of a civilised country that sends a retired Brigadier general as its high commissioner to a very strategic country like South Africa? The whole thing is wrong. We need to be rid of all these traitors and start a country that will be honest and hardworking.
It is the forth of the South African Government who has helped to promote the hatred against Nigeria and Nigerians. They are not doing enough to stop this shameful acts. If "Lucky Dube" - a well known songstar was killed and mistaken for a Nigerian in South Africa, how about those cases of innocent Nigerians being setup daily for drugs and other criminal offenses by the Police. At the Airports around South Africa, Nigerians are over searched and targeted, simply because of the Green passport. The South African Police force and their government are all racists when it comes to issues about Nigeria. Forgeting that back in the day of the Apartheid regime, an average Nigerian civil servant made monetary contributions deducted from their paychecks toward the success of a free South Africa. Now that you are free, you've forgotten those thin hands that fed you.

I Feel sorry for Nigerians in South Africa, when Dube was mistaken for a Nigerian, who else will they mistake to be a Nigerian? Its not there fault you, back to history, when a student was killed in spain what did the high commission there do, what did the president say? what did the Embassy in spain do? Dont expect much in this case? Are we save? is Nigerians Save abroad? i for one agree with the fact that "some nigerians are criminal" but that doesn't make every nigerian the same. Do south africans think about their fellow Safricans abroad, we all think and care for each other abroad, so why should the hatred be such?
less i forget did we ask our selves why the man was killed? what was their motives? to steal from "we thought he is a Nigerian" or what? Gezz Some people must be crazy!!!

I am a Nigerian, and we are our own worst problem. We act so offended when others tell us the truth about ourselves. Not all Nigerians are crooks, but now nobody wants to take the chance to find out.
Even those of us who are not crooks behave so crudely and uncivilized and uncouth, and then we wonder why the rest of the world look at us with scorn and disgust.
It is time for us to stop pretending that we don't have a problem. We have behavioral problems. Big time. That is why many other Africans hate us, and the rest of the world laughs at us and despises us.
It is only when we admit the truth that we will be able to change our circumstances. Until then we will remain the laughing stock of the world, despite having so many world-class people.
