I agree with onesoulzim1, the united states of Africa is a good idea, and i hope it happens soon. I am looking forward to that passport to travel the continent from north to south and east to west without restrictions. It will provide us with new opportunities and challenges. This is exactly what we need to overcome the present chaos across the continent. We need this one voice and one goal to focus on the problems that are common to all countries in Africa. We do not necessarily have to move every obstacle before establishing a united states of africa. People like Uguiss should realise that most African countries will never reach that ideal stage of development that is being proposed before a US of Africa is put together. So lets stop wasting time, and take the step to move forward now.

US of Africa is just nonsense at this stage of the development of african countries. It is even worse with somebody like Muammar al-Gaddhafi. As said by Kelvin Gaddhafi interest for africa is suspect. I think that he should go back to his arab/muslim brothers and try to get them united. We africans from the sub-saharian africa do not have anything in comon with the countries from the north of africa(Morocco, Ageria, Libya, Tunisia, Egypt and te arab part of Sudan). I don't how can we ever belong to a same federation. With the arabs from the north it will never work. We can just se the conditions of life and decriminations the blacks living in the northern part of africa live.

I thing that the sub-sharian countries must concentrate their own streghtening and in the streghtening of regional organizations like ECOWAS, SADC etc.

I think we should not waste our time considering the support given to Gaddhafi by puppets like the king of benin or other local leaders and even some of the head of states of west africa and SEN-SAD. These are only some poor and miserable people. They are supporting Gaddahafi for some miserable dollar notes nothing else. They can sell their mother for and theys soul for money. A Shame they are

A US of Africa can only be possible when the Protestants are brave men and women of valor. The west will never allow such strong economic block to exist; instead the west is bent on putting its international finance systems to run the entirety of Africa.

If Gaddafi has international image ambitions then Africa must exploit that NOW. Leaders are not born every season. Its past time Africa needs ONE voice that confronts global challenges racking havoc in our kitchens. I know African heroes and statesmen will be those who want to clip Gaddafi’s wings while putting the continent further into abyss. Heroes must not be those who have statues in the western world nor those with western decorated pieces of paper designed as recognitions to their accomplishments for western “international” interests.

This is going to be one hell of a giant continental circus act, with its attendant orgies of decadence that ends up achieving nothing.

It is going to be a profligate (power)"drunken sailsman" looking for where to hang his hat.

By the way I also read in the New York Times where Gaddaffi proposes that Isreal and Palestine become one state called Isratine.

Gaddaffi is determined to have his impact whatever that will be - rewritting the world map, and recreating and renaming nations, however crassly he goes about it.
