The world's mass consumption of cell phones, laptops and other electronics fuels widespread sexual violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), according to a new study released Wednesday by the non-profit Enough Project that echoes what many human rights activists and humanitarian workers have been saying for years.

This is quite deplorable. What is the site? These statistics are quite chilling and we really must do everything possible to stop this. A whole population is under threat because of human greed. Companies using such resources must be held accountable. They must come clean or lets' organize worldwide boycotts of their products.
The DRC authorities should close down all the mineral fields in the conflict region of the East for at least ten years. Then let's see what is going to happen. The country has nothing to lose since it is not benefiting from it, either directly or indirectly. Tighten all the borders with Eastern countries and close down all airports but the International Airport in Goma.
