Women in Mauritania who press charges for sexual assault face the risk of jail time because of poorly defined laws and stigma that criminalise victims rather than offenders, according to a local UN-funded non-profit.

That is screwed up! Being the victim of rape should NOT be considered a crime. It NEVER should! Rape is violence. It's about power, not sex. Why doesn't the US or anything else do something about it?! Why can't we take a stand and convince Africa's law system that it's a serious crime, and even murderers look down on rapists. They HATE rapists. Rapists need to be put in jail! They need to learn what they did wrong, and they can be punished for a crime such as that. No one is taking a stand and telling the law enforcement there that rape should be a crime... and not a crime if the victim was raped and reported it. That's just my opinion, and I am sure a lot of people agree with me 150%.
