I am happy to read that the long-term concern about the conservation area is being addressed. It is important to note that World Heritage Site leaders must understand the need for financial support and partnership guidance will be critical to supporting the NCAA in reaching the required goals for the conservation area to remain a World Heritage Site. The Tanzanian people have a great appreciation for their natural resources, and need support and education to build a long-term balanced relationship with their environment. Should the NCAA be removed as a WHS-designated site, it would be devistating for the local economy, so building understanding that limiting personal economic access to the crater area will provide for a longer-term economic health will be critical to make any future protection plan workable.
