TWO major planks are emerging as possibly the best responses to curbing the spread of HIV and AIDS.

This article is DANGEROUS! And it disgusts me! Male circumcision does NOT combat the spread of HIV. HIV is spread through contact with bodily fluids. The circumcision has nothing to do with it. Why do people in Africa spread these very dangerous lies? I be this is Takunya who thinks the CIA invented Aids.... and homosexuality... IDIOTS!
Maybe we could circumcise ZanuPooF to stop the spread of Aids. ( Aquired Income Diffecincy).
If Mugabe wanted to curcumsise a whale he'd think he would have to send down four skin divers.
Even if the three trials proved that circumcision provides some protection, it is the equivalent of a supply of condoms with 40% of them full of holes - and protecting only men, not women. Why is circumcision being "rolled out" to the general public after only careful trials by scientists, without any field trials in real-life conditions? This is a recipe for disaster.
Circumcision is a dangerous distraction in the fight against AIDS. There are seven African countries where men are more likely to be HIV+ if they've been circumcised: Rwanda, Cameroon, Ghana, Lesotho, Malawi, Swaziland, and Tanzania. Eg in Malawi, the HIV rate is 13.2% among circumcised men, but only 9.5% among intact men. In Cameroon, the HIV rate is 4.1% among circumcised men, but only 1.1% among intact men. If circumcision really worked against AIDS, this just wouldn't happen. We now have people calling circumcision a "vaccine" or "invisible condom", and viewing circumcision as an alternative to condoms.
ABC (Abstinence, Being faithful, Condoms) is the way forward. Promoting genital surgery will cost African lives, not save them.
