Madagascar has Typha. In the absence of industry and mining, that means food. The plant's habit of collecting pollutants will not be a large factor on Madagascar. There is food to be harvested year round from a cattail swamp. I do not know what is in season now in Madagascar. Here in central USA we are just starting pollen season. Tons of high protein flour additive(no gluten) per acre. Less than 1 part per million being put to use. Don't let yourselves go hungry. Look up [cattail recipes] online and see what can be done.
