Last week, the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) gave what it said was notice warning that within two months, it would escalate its terrorist activities to the North by launching a major attack there.

I disagree with ur comment. the real thief this nation have ever had were mitary dictators from the North. Whose activities was wasting prominent life and polluting Niger Delta. Don't forget that even till the next generation the North can not face the Niger Deltans and the igbos. Ur power is not in the groundnut from kano but the oil&gas in Delta.
Perhaps somebody needs to set Garba straight that when the MEND said the “North” it is a reference to just a section of Nigeria. The “North” does not mean Nigeria as Garba’s ego seems to imply. FYI, Nigeria is an amalgam of more than 250 ethnic groups that are generally classified among the dominant nation states of Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa/Fulani. Since Garba alluded to Biafra of the last Civil War which was suppressed only because the Yoruba nation-state ganged with the Hausas (in other words, the Hausa/Fulani, by themselves, would have lost to the Igbo, were it not for the support of the Yoruba). Given what the Yorubas know now, and given the current global mood about the Hausa/Fulani’s callousness and injustice towards the Deltans, plus the incompetent rule of Nigeria over the past 40 years by the mostly un-educated but greedy Hausas, if another Civil War were to start today, that would be the end of your dynasty, Garba. You are baiting the Tiger; as a result, you will be very sorry you did. Just continue to marginalize these Deltans without which you ingrates up there would be another basket case depending on global musical campaign for food rescue. Just keep it up. Its about time we went our separate ways.
Mr. kaparah is advocating for a nihilist agenda that may inadvertently obliterate the Niger Detans in their inordinate quest for the control of Natural Resources which traditionally falls under the jurisdiction of federal governments in all countries of the world. It is only in Nigeria that a terror organization will seek to control natural resources and will be openly vindicated by internet trolls, or more appropriately, by tribalists like Mr. Kaparah. Before oil was discovered the Federal Government of Nigeria survived on the sale of TIN and Agricultural Products. With the exception of Cocoa, none of those products was from the South. The land in what is now Plateau State was totally devasted by Tin mining activities, yet nobody took to street with arms against the Federal Government or the British Government for deasroying land and communities. Nobody advocated for local control of TIN, and nobody was kidnapped by the Birom community to extract inordinate demands nor to extort money from TIN Companies. Mr. Kaparah may not know elementary history of Nigeria

Mr. Kaparah may not know the elementary history of Nigeria and he may not even know that natural resources are historically controlled by federal governments around the world, but that is his problem, the fact of the matter is, MEND is only day-dreaming; the notion that they are fighting for control of resources is a delusion.
Adamu Garba, Kaparah, Sonofmoman, and Karl ; I carefully analise all presentation this is my comment= The outcomes of our educational institutions recently are rotten with bundle of mediocrities like Oka in his coup presentations wishing to tumble Nigeria on his dreams of what Nigeria should be. infact i dont blame all of you it is how our educational institutions are run and we are getting the like taughts on .net.
Karl, I have given you all the relevant history you need to know as it pertains to the current issue wherein the "President of the North" by the name of YarAdua had the temerity to turn the guns to kill innocent women and children under the pretense of routing the so called Niger Delta militants. FYI, what may seem like radicals to some may be patriots to others depending on which side of the fence you are. I am not interested in the UK involvement anywhere - this is a local matter between Nigerians. How many thousands of Igbos and Yorubas were killed by the Hausas in Kano, Kaduna and Jos in the last 5 years, all in the name of a religion that was used to enslave your body and soul? Now, pray tell us who is more nihilistic, Karl? Instead of nation building with wisdom and fairness, the only thing the Hausas excel at is to destroy and kill with machete. How civilized can one get!
Kaparah, you forgot to mention the ganging up of unlikely bedfellows, Britain and USSR as well as moral support from the US administration. These people have since leant from 9-11 and 7-7 how dangerous the people who spearheaded the attack on Biafra could be. Again, locally, the Yorubas are not the only ones who have learnt their lessons. The minority ethnic groups who together form the majority in the north, who also did most of the fighting have learnt their lesson. After the war, their officer corps were accused of coups at different points during Murtala's, Babangida's and Abacha's rules ... and slaughtered. Their civilians who are mostly Christians are not spared till this day. Tens of thousands of them have perished since the end of the civil war as victims of Islamic terrorism. Their churches and property have not been spared. They have suffered terribly under Hausa/Fulani during centuries of domination and enslavement. Most of them are no longer deceived by the word "North" which the Hausa/Fulani have treacherously used at their convenience to exploit them.
It is not news that the northerners are the real thieves in this country, having ruled Nigeria for majority of times and draging the entire nation backward due to their greed and selfishness. The records are their to show for how the northerners have looted this country for so many years.Believe it or not its a matter of time and we shall see if there would need for the nigerian nation to continue to exist. JTF or no JTF our freedom fighters you call all sorts of negative would not backdown.Infact more people are still enrolling ready to support our fighters. The time of northern domination is gradually comming to an end and we would surely get there.Long live Niger delta.

The idea that every problem in Nigeria can be blamed on Hausa/Fulani is an old wornout song. We Nigerians need to come of age and start seeing things for what they are. As the saying goes, charity begins at home . MEND should start holding their local officers(state@local government) accountable for what they already have because no matter what the Federal Government allocates to the area, progress will not come if the local officers just keep enriching themselves. I did not read or hear MEND demonstrating when the former governor of Bayelsa state was arrested in London for money laundering. It will not surprise me if MEND participated in organising the welcome party for him when he jumped bail in London.
Other countries of the world have their resources tapped, harmonized such that all parts of the country benefit from. Unfortunately, ours is bedeviled with greed, selfishness, bad governance, misappropriation and all the like. No one single nation is self sufficient in all things. The whole world is interdependent, so also are sections/regions of a nation. We need each other to survive.
The resources of the the Niger Delta, the palm oil of the South east, the groundnuts of the North, the yam, potatoes and Maize(corn) of the middle belt, the cocoa of the South West, the Coal of Enugu, the tin ore of the plateau, the Iron ore of Kogi, and the so many untapped solid minerals in the different parts/states of this great and God favored country are there for the citizen to benefit from. Why do we have to kill others just because we want control? Why are we destroying the country that shelters us? Other countries are envious of our resources, but here are we killing and maiming each other. A German once said, " Let Nigerians take all it has developed (in Nigeria) and join or add that to what the Germans have developed, as an exchange for an empty country (Nigeria), come back in 10 years, you will not recognize this country again". This shows clearly that our problem is not the control of resources but of management of these resources. What has happened with all the billions of Dollars channeled to the Niger Delta through NDDC and the like. So also is the issue with the Steel companies, PHCN (POWER), NITEL(Communication),ROADS ( FERMA), Air Lines, Shipping Vessels, Railway ,Sea and Air ports, and so on and so forth. It is shameful that after 49 years of independence, we are still talking about who owns what. The fight for "Resources control" is only for minute selfish few Traditional Rulers (both North and the South), politicians who are reaping from the agitations. This is true olso for the North as they use religion to their benefit.
All that said and done, let us accept this amnesty offered by the president to fashion out a future for our children and generations yet unborn. Thank you.
It is rather sad that inspite of the bunch of senseless morons who have binded their heads together to form the Niger Delta Elites. The leaders of this ungreateful armed robbers seem to forget so easily the exploites of the Nigerian State When Ojukwu felt he had developed the balls to challenge the resolve of the Nigerian State to remain united. This though happened at a time when Nigerian Military could be said to be in it infant stage. He ended up a renegade.Almost thirty years their after the Nigeriian state has shown the same resolve in maintaining peace in the sub-region.The expolits of her millitary in the jungles of Serria-Leone and liberia and her single handed containment of Chad in the 80s ,should be a lesson for who so ever is been decieved that he can clad his armed robbery under the auspecis of tribal emancipation submit to a superior and tested force. It is imperative for the advicers of this criminals stealing the resourecs of the Nigerian State to know that Nigeria is greater than any single senseless and greedy tribe or region. This is so because containing them is as good as been concluded.
