Ian Redmond, Ambassador for the UN Year of the Gorilla, was in Rwanda to participate in the International Conference on Gorilla Conservation which preceded the Kwita Izina Ceremony. I think we can all appreciate Mr. Redmond's leadership in conserving the lives and habitats of great apes. I would recommend checking out this documentary ( http://www.explore.org/explore/africa/films/176 ) if you haven't ever been to see the gorillas in Rwanda. It's one thing to work to save animals when they are a concept, but it is entirely different to see how human these creatures really are.
